RE: YouAreHOPE Thankful Thursday Donor Report

in #youarehope6 years ago

I have heard good things about your projects and hope you will continue your good work. I am currently holding a contest where I will donate 300 STEEM to one user who will use it to impact as many people as possible in a good way. Please read my post about the details https://busy.org/@tarekadam/donatesteem-i-will-donate-300-steem-for-contest-to-buy-food-water-medicine#comments. If you are interested I am looking forward to read a post from you with a proposal how you would use the STEEM to help people in your area.

That's a great project. We have helped thousands of people all over the world across a dozen countries and a few continents. I think you should run your contest with an eye towards encouraging others to do the same, but after nearly a year here in the charity "business", I will offer two bits of advice. Be VERY sure that you get documentation in the form of verifiable photos or videos of the things that will be done with the money, as there are plenty of people who will lie here to get some charity money. I've seen plenty of that along the way as we built up YouAreHOPE. Also, get evidence AFTER the mission is completed, that it was completed.

I fear your heart is in the right place, but without some vetting, which is the biggest part of what we spend time on in managing donor money at YouAreHOPE, your money will end up in hands that won't do what they said they would to win a contest of that scale.

Good luck, and I hope you find a worthy mission to back. If you want to be certain of where you donate your money and what will be done with it, YouAreHOPE is always an option for you as well, as the first and largest and to our knowledge only truly transparent world humanitarian aid foundation, exclusively on the steem chain, we will always be able to ensure your funds go to high impact projects, like rebuilding and sanitizing and treating for mosquitoes in flooded, malaria infested villages in Nigeria or rebuilding orphanage and school buildings and providing hundreds of kilograms of food in Venezuela. Just a couple of our more recent examples.

May your funds go to someone worthy of delivering solid mission work for the good of many people!

Thank you very much for your detailed response and recommendation. I would like to know more about projects you are currently doing and where you could use a donation. If you are working on something interesting that need funding than please write a post about it outlining the What How and When. I am looking indeed for a trustworthy partner to donate but need some information first about the project.

I have known Cork for a good while now, and I am continually impressed with the results they YAH Team is showing! I do not have a lot of time to follow most of the rotating outreach, but I have seen enough that I feel CONFIDENCE that I can donate and not have to worry about it! That means a LOT to me. I know more High Level Steemians such as yourself will be an invaluable addition, your example of giving and resteeming will bring in more than you can know.

Thank you for your comment.

I think you misunderstand our scale. There is no one "project" - we've been at this for nearly a year, with around 500 active members of the YAH community doing things all over the world. We've touched thousands of lives with basic human fundamental needs like food, shelter, hygiene, medical and educational supplies, assistance and care.

The best thing to do would be follow our blog. I'm actually surprised you are not familiar with YouAreHOPE, as it gets mentioned or hashtagged by posters and commenters several hundred times a day across the platform according to what the various mention tracker bots tell me at this point.

The best way to see what we've been up to in one place where we try to consolidate as much of the relevant mission related posting as we can is in the YouAreHOPE discord or on our blog of course, where I try to catch and resteem as much as I can around the platform related to YAH initiatives both operated by our core Agents of HOPE or by others who have adopted the tag as more of a concept than by actual association with the foundation.

Here's the discord link:

You'll be looking for the #youarehope-news channel in the discord channel list for an archive of the posts we've managed to keep track of in the maelstrom since we launched. We didn't start the discord right away, but it covers a pretty long time going back into last year. Now we host more than a dozen country and project channels for various other charities in our Coalition of Causes area in addition to core YouAreHOPE Foundation channels.

Thanks and good luck with your contest.

Thank you for clarifying. I started to follow you and youarehope now . Unfortunately I haven't noticed it earlier with all the noise going on.

Understandable. It's noisy here. I know, I spend around 20 hours a day, active on the platform, 7 days a week. I run three international organizations, two steem based 24/7 and my job as an executive partner in an international software company unrelated to steem. It's definitely hard to take it all in sometimes.

We have projects running now, in several countries. Usually we have so much going on I can't even get it all posted or rounded up before more piles on. We do what we can, as documentation and transparent operations are the core premise of our existence at YAH.

When you get some candidates for your prize, let me know, I'm deeply connected in many communities here and can generally always find someone I trust to ratify a potential mission agent who can be trusted with our donor's funds. If no one knows a person at all, and they have no historical system rep or account scale of their own... be wary. Very wary.

That is a very great offer and I will make use of it for sure! Thank you again!

Putting in my two cents--I'm the Director of a 501c3 nonprofit in the U.S. This has made me keenly aware of other charity initiatives both on and off the blockchain. YAH is the most efficient, transparent, effective charity I've encountered to date. I have never seen any organization do so much with so little.

Thank you very much for sharing this information.
