In the west, we tend to see Yoga as an exercise but this science of union tends to be a bit deeper than just getting into head stand

Even though I must say, it's nice to see the world upside down

Many forms of Yoga exist which lead to self realisation

Yoga is a wheel, an integrated & wholly wheel where many aspects of Yoga branch off, all ultimately leading to Raj Yoga (Royal Yoga), the king of all Yogas, Meditation !

*Karma Yoga - Yoga of selfless service, or Yoga of action

*Bhakti Yoga - Yoga of devotion

*Raja Yoga - Ashtanga (8 limbs of Yoga)
Renunciation of the senses to be fully present in the absolute void of awareness where everything & nothing happens, pure stillness & eternal bliss

*Ashtanga : Yang Yoga that demands the body to be super fit in order to flow through the postures

*Kundalini : Yogic system that works on the 12 bodies. Reinforcing the energetic shield & cosmic alignment

*Iyengar : Yoga with props that heals & helps any physical injury & physical alignment

*Artistic : Dance Yoga. Yoga in grace

*Yin : Slow restorative Yoga

I have been in Yoga for 5 years now. I don't claim to know everything, actually I know very little but still wanted to share the little that me & my intuition knows as Yoga is an infinite trail of knowledge ..

Thank you for this beautiful piece, love the headstand! I am currently doing Astanga yoga and I agree it is very physically demanding! Today I felt quite sore after going to class yesterday.

I first learned about the different types or elements of yoga from watching youtube videos of Sadhguru (Jaggi Vassudev). It's beautiful that there are options for our different inclinations as humans. Also if we have a powerful urge for the truth we can use all of the yogas! With such commitment then something will eventually open us up in a big way :)

I also want to remind you that in the Steemit community there is an emphasis on original content and crediting other peoples work. Some people may overlook your beautiful post if you have not taken the time to put the source for your images. Otherwise the assumption is that these images belong to you.
