Lukas 21
1 but He looked again and beheld them casting their offerings into the abounding collection box
2 and He beheld a certain poor widow cast in there two leptas(one hundred leptas(copper coins) = 1 drachma(a silver coin))
3 and He said, "truly I tell you that the poor widow cast in the most of all"
4 but not everyone, from their excess they cast in their gift to God but she from her poverty, not all their living(livelihood) that she cast
5 and some said about the temple that the stones were good(beautiful, excellent) and said an adorned consecrated gift(offering)
6 this which you see, the days will come in which no stone is left upon a stone which is not destroyed(literally dissolved)
7 but they asked Him, tell us Teacher, so when will these things be and what sign will there be when these are about to happen(about to be literally)
8 but He said, see you're not deceived because many will come in My Name saying that I am He and the time is near, do not follow them
9 but when you hear of wars and instabilities(tumults) do not be scared(terrified, frightened) because these need to happen first because the end is not yet(or not directly)
10 then He said He will rouse(or awaken) nation(tribe) upon nation(tribe) and kingdom upon kingdom
11 also great earthquakes in places and famines and there will be wickedness(evil) and also terror and there will be great signs from heaven
12 but before all these, not all(of you implied), they will lay their hands on you(or seize you) and they will pursue you(persecute you, make you flee) handing you over into gatherings and prisons and they will lead you(bring you) before kings(leaders, those in power) and chiefs(governors, rulers) for My Name('s sake implied)
13 but you will turn(literally become) into a witness
14 therefore do not set in your hearts thinking before of what you will say(or of an apology, of your self defence)
15 but I will give you a mouth and wisdom which none will be able to deny(or refute) nor oppose(resist), all those opposing you
16 but you will be handed over by parents and brothers and relatives and friends and they will kill (some implied) of you
17 and you will be hated by all for My Name('s sake implied)
18 and none of the hairs on your head are lost(or destroyed)
19 in your patience you possess your own spirits
20 but when you see military camps around Yerushalem then know that her desolation(can mean destruction or the state of emptiness) approaches(nears)
21 then those in Judea flee into the hills(mountains) and those in the middle of them depart out and those in the rural areas do not enter into them
22 those days of vindication(vengeance, punishment) is fulfilling all that is written
23 but woe to those pregnant and those breastfeeding in those days because there will be great distress on the earth and anger among the people
24 and they will fall by the mouth(edge) of the sword(or knife) and they will be led captive into all the nations(tribes) and Yerushalem will be trampled on by the nations(tribes) until the fulfilment of the nations'(tribes') time(set time implied)
25 and there will be signs in the sun and in the moon and stars and upon the earth among the nations(tribes) in perplexity, a roaring(reverberating) sea and tumult
26 men(mankind) out of their minds from fear and expectation of the coming world because the powers(forces) of the heavens will be shaken
27 and then they will see the son of man coming in a cloud with power(might) and much glory
28 but (when implied) these begin to happen arise and lift up your heads because your deliverance draws near
29 and He told them a parable(=similitude, similar story), see the fig tree and all the trees
30 when they sprout now you can see from them knowing that by squeezing them(implies to be ready) it is summer
31 so do you when you see these things know that the Kingdom of God is ready
32 so be it(amen) I tell you this generation will not pass until all this comes to be(happens)
33 the heavens and the earth will pass away but My words will not pass away
34 take care that they never burden your hearts in debauchery and drunkenness and the cares of the body and that day suddenly(unexpected, unforeseen) stands upon(is before) you
35 because as a snare it is coming upon all those sitting on the face of all the earth(the whole earth)
36 watch therefore at all times(literally in all time) want(desire, pray) so that you are accounted worthy(judged worthy) to escape(or flee from) all that is about to be(to happen) and stand before(in the presence of) the Son of man
37 but in those days He taught in the Temple but at night He went out and He abode in the hill(mountain) called olives
38 and all the people came before Him at dawn in the Temple to hear Him
