The XRP Lovers vs The XRP HaterssteemCreated with Sketch.

in #xrp6 years ago (edited)

My first investment in crypto was 1000 dollars in XRP on Etoro. As many people, I had no clue what I was doing. I did 5x that money - actually my biggest gain in crypto. What I really think is interesting is the hate and love for XRP. Why? Because both sides are so extreme that I wonder what on earth is going on in their minds.

The typical XRP-lover thinks that XRP will be "the next Bitcoin". They think that XRP will fly to 10 USD In a few months and that it is a safe bet. XRP lovers also tend to bash Bitcoin, Ethereum and other coins on Facebook, Youtube and Telegram. They are expert on flashing news.

The typical XRP-hater believe that XRP is worthless and that its just a scam to enrich Ripple (the company). They say that XRP is going to zero and that no one is going to use XRP. The haters also love to point out that Ripple owns the majority of the coins.

Very few know the real history to Ripple and XRP. Its not just a scam - the original project started back in the early 2000s(long before Bitcoin). Its not a scam. There is a real purpose behind the project and there is a demand for a new solution for banks and other payment providers to do transactions. Yes, Ripple (the company) signs deals with banks that say they will never use XRP. Remember, the same banks also said a few years back that the internet was not a safe place to do transactions. Ripple is actually doing a great sale and marketing scheme here to slowly introduce their technology and then with time the banks will probably use XRP. Yes, XRP is centralized or more centralized then many will like. Just as a electric car suits some people, but others need a hybrid in order to cover their needs of a car.

Thinking that XRP will replace Bitcoin is just crazy. They serve 2 different types of users and usage. XRP will probably in a long perspective increase in value, if they keep delivering what they promise but getting to 10 dollars is far away and it will most likely not happen in months, maybe in years.

I belive that if you are going to make great investments in the crypto-sphere, you need to diversify into different projects that serve different needs. Remember, its not only one fastfood restaurant...you have McDonalds, Subway, KFC, Wendys and more. 95 % of crypto will probably lose value or die, but I think that both XRP and BTC will stay. So why have so much hate or love for another? Try to educate each other in a decent way so that you can both make good investments and improve the technology and adoption.

You have a minor misspelling in the following sentence:

belive that if you are going to make great investments in the crypto-sphere, you need to diversify into different projects that serve different needs.
It should be believe instead of belive.
