I went to a chess tournament

I went to chess tournament recently to root for my nephews. 2 of them joined the tournament. It was quite an experience for them. each of them had to compete with 8 other players and there were about 200 participants. The eldest did quite well by getting 4 wins. while his younger brother got 3 wins. It was ok considering they never actually played in a tournament and did not actually practice except for when they play with their dad or me once in a while. They had some trouble understanding the rules. it was a bit hard for them especially for my younger nephew. i can see how he really wanted to win more from the looks of his eyes that time, but he kept making illegal moves because he was still trying to understand the rules. The older one was quite fast in learning the rules, he always had a knack for learning new things. but the young one was a fighter. Given enought time to understand the rules he could win more for sure. but all in all, it was a good experience with them competing against other kids their age.
