English subtitles needed for Japanese documentary about WWII spy
Did the Nazis have an atomic bomb ready?
If you haven't seen Hunting Hitler I suggest you check it out, it is quite revealing to say the least. Also from other sources it appears the Nazis had an atomic bomb or at least the knowledge of nuclear energy. According to declassified intelligence files it appears that a huge number of the highest ranking Nazis flew to Argentina before the war ended and Spain was a handy ally to them.
During World War II, Spain was neutral in name only and was much more than "nominally supportive" of the Axis. Franco's regime was actively involved in espionage on behalf of Germany and Japan, and a Spaniard named Angel Alcazar de Velasco proved to be one of the great spymasters of all time.
According to secret FBI files that have only recently been partially declassified, the Spanish worked directly with the Japanese in attempting to penetrate the Manhattan Project, including clandestine submarine missions facilitated by U-boat.
Eventually the FBI teamed up with Canadian counterintelligence to largely destroy de Velasco's spy ring, but he seems to have still been able to piece together the basics of the eastern hub of the US atomic bomb works at Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and he claimed to have made a report about the uranium plants and bomb project to Hitler himself. Quora
Also Nik Cook's the Hunt for Zero Point shows that the Nazis at least tested an atomic bomb and had huge facilities inside mountains making the atomic bomb possible months if not years ahead of Manhattan project. He suggests Nazis even shipped a huge amount of uranium to Japan by U-boat which the allies sunk.
Who wants to translate or knows a better source?
Now I found a very interesting video which might shed more light on what really happened to highest ranking Nazi members, including Hitler and the fate of the atomic bomb. The problem is that is is narrated in Japanese!
