My son’s amazing birthday treat

in #wwe7 years ago (edited)

When my son Aaron turned thirteen we surprised him with tickets to go and see WWE Live at The Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle UK.
(You can see the moment he opened his present here)
It’s fair to say he felt elated.
So here’s what happened on the trip of a lifetime.

To Newcastle and back

The day had came and the wait was over, it was time to be the hero and deliver the greatest gift we could possibly of giving my son for his 13th birthday.
We where off to Newcastle for a over night stay and 3hrs of WWE action.

Not only was that it his first time seeing WWE Live but his first time on a train too.
It was this part of the trip that I was nervous about because anyone who has read my blogs before will know Aaron has dyspraxia which makes him very unsteady on his feet but Aaron(like the champions he was going to see) handled it amazingly.

When we arrived it was a short walk to our hotel and we had 2 hours to kill before showtime so as our stomachs echoed a very telling truth, it was time to go get lunch at a pre booked table in toro’s steakhouse.

wrestling Time

The time had come and we where off to the wrestling. It was overwhelming how many people where queuing up waiting to get inside but sooner or later we where in and stood at the merchandise stand where Aaron just went crazy and bought almost everything there.

Once inside the arena we found our seats no problem. 3 rows from the ring and what a view. We could almost touch them which got Aaron even more hyped up. ( as if he could be any more excited)

The show was amazing and Aaron knew every wrestler, chant and what would happen next.
He also got talking to the guy who sat next to him and they where talking in some alien language al about their favourite WWE moments through all time.

The cherry on the cake

Just when I thought Aaron could not get anymore
overwhelmed with excitement, out came his idol
Daniel Bryan (who by the way was not on the cards to fight that night) and Aaron just screamed with his eyes filling up with tears of joy.
It was at this point I knew we had achieved what we set out to achieve and that was to give Aaron the best childhood memory we could possibly be able to do within our means. C79CF476-4A6F-4F8D-9D67-E85FCE1875F2.jpeg
Aaron had the time of his life and never stopped thanking us for what we did for him.

how do we top that

Well I don’t know the answer to that but I suppose only time will tell. Where home now and yes mum went crazy when she seen all the merchandise but she calmed down and admitted that as long he had a great time then money did not compare.

Love the post! You are truly a good father! One question though, why did you put the dtube video for this on a separate post? Is it safe to assume that you dont know how to go about doing this?

hi, thanks for your kind words.
Yes, your assumption is correct. I tried to embed the video as that was my initial plan, but due to only being new to blogging, I'm still learning.
If I used my YouTube version I could have done it but i wanted to stay true to the block-chain and use Dtube so in the end, i choose to link the video.
If you have any guidance on Dtube embedding then please feel free to help out a newbie and thanks for your reply.

The way i know about doing this is after youve made the dtube video post, you edit it and put the contents after. Hope ive been of help man! 😀

Ok, thank you. I will keep that in mind for the next time.

That would be a great gift !!! Your son looks so happy to be there!!! Happy belated birthday!!!

He still has not come down, out of the clouds. Every time I see him he be like “I loved it when” and “ do you remember the part where” it I have had two days of spilling my thoughts on steemit so I suppose he is only doing the same.

He will remember it for a long time to come. Always a cool gift for a fan, a trip to an event.

It sure was. Thanks for your reply

Excellent parenting! I am so glad Aaron had a great experience, and him being a Daniel Bryan fan is a very good thing.

He will be happy to read your reply. Thank you I think Aaron will be your forever friend.
