Nevsky bridgehead nowadays and in 1943

in #ww26 years ago

Left bank nowadays (I took this video yesterday)

Right bank diorama that represents the year 1943.

This year we have a warm winter. But even now near the river it is really really cold. All those modern European membrane jackets, boots and thermals just don’t work. You need to wear Russian valenki and ushanka to have a chance to survive.
I cannot even imagine how people survived, fought and worked there since 1941 up to 1944 when winters were much much colder.

Sort:

Vodka helped 😆

Vodka is good but useless without valenki. Btw a bought a pair today

wow, good for you 💪
