BLEST THRONE

He came from His blest Throne,
Salvation to bestow :
But men made strange, and none
The longed-for Christ would know.
But O my Friend!
My Friend indeed,
Who at my need
His life did spend.

Good Christian men, rejoice
With heart and soul and voice I
Now ye hear of endless bliss :
Joy! Joy! Jesus Christ was born for this.
He hath oped the heavenly door,
And man is blest for evermore.
Christ was born for this.
