Sinclair Media Group Gives Scripts to It’s Affiliates
Recently a DEADSPIN article came out with an extremely well edited video showing dozens of local news networks across the nation clearly reading of a script preaching about the dangers of online media sources and the supposed epidemic of “fake news.” The ending, and oft repeated message of these “talks” was that “it was a danger to our democracy.” The irony being that when cut together, the phrase, “this is dangerous to our democracy” seems to apply to the video itself. But how does the right feel about this revelation? Obviously the concern about “fake news” is real and plenty of people are “wary” to it’s influence. But where do you draw the line, when your main source of news seems to argue that EVERY other media source is fake? Can they be trusted?
Is it even ethical for them to have such an obvious agenda? Or, since they are a private company is it perfectly within their right to push whatever message they want out on the platform that then not only own, but control?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.

There's a great John Oliver bit on Sinclair. I recommend you give it a watch!
I have already followed you & that article is right about because today social and electronic media is publishing false news to make points or for money they rise wrong perception not right thanks for sharing this great story post @writesbackwards
I do not believe any news until I hear it from several media outlets
Even then it can be twisted by emphasizing some things and not others.
I think Media houses should focus on their job, rather than on who is and who is not 'fake'. That should be left to the news consumers. To draw lines, and try to bias them against others, could in itself actually be what is 'fake".
And this:-
Is obviously too old, and too oftenly evoked cliche, outside being used to qualify bigoted opinions, it has, in my honest opinion, lost relevance.
I think we have to start with it doesn't matter if it's ethical or not, we gotta find a way to teach ourselves and others how to distinguish between the facts and the fake news. It is very hard to find any news that is not bias. Someone can not simply say "this happened" they also have to add their opinion of what happened, for some reason.
Fake news is very relevant today but I think it is the scapegoat for the real problem which is the biased distortion of real news.
