The Rising of the Devout – Write 001
The Rising of a devout is a biography of an astute and devout Civil Servant in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria who serve through the ranks to the peak of his career as a Permanent Secretary after series of setbacks and tough resistance. The story badges a great deal of motivation for all who are aspiring to greatness in life but faced with the pressures compromise.
The Story
Dan was a newly recruited Agricultural Science teacher into the State Civil Service to serve as a classroom in a secondary school. Being groomed by a disciplined family and religious background that promotes devoutness, Dan found it hard to compromise with dubious staff and management of the school.
With such sensitive position he occupied in the school, his reports to the State Ministry of Agriculture would not always allow the Principal make his juicy cuts from the sale of agric. products sold. Dan held on to his straightforward life and God wouldn’t deny him a leap to the position of a principal after many years of service. He eventually became a National Treasurer of the forum of principal and other dubious principal who would not put-up with him, lobbied to illegally post him out from being a school principal to the Schools Board in an interior local government area. Then, he lost the position as the treasurer to the National Principals’ forum.
On arriving the Schools Board, Dan’s alleged notoriety could not allow him have a peaceful stay, he was again pushed to the State ministry of Education and later transferred to the Technical Schools Board in the State.
Amidst all the persecutions, Dan still remain resolute to his core values and wouldn’t mid losing all juicy spots rather than compromise.
After putting in more than 25 years into the State service, Dan rose to level 14, which qualified him to serve as an Education sector representative to the State Administrator (during the military government). After several names sent to the State Administrator for the role got rejections, Dan was finally invited for an interview with the Administrator and finally got deployed to serve as a Senior Staff in the Office of the Principal Secretary to the Chief Administrator.
This feat presumed to have been an unraveling of fortune for Dan became another boxing stage.
