My first story on steemit(THRILLER) "THE HOUSE" first part
I stared at the house as i walked closer to it, breathing heavily at the moment due to the long trek, i cursed my uber driver under my breath for refusing to come closer to this house, the man had even told me not to pay and i could sense fear in his eyes, he was shaking as if he has seen a ghost, and his action was not strange to me at all my friends have told me to desist from renting that house, my mother had called me in the night weeping and begging me to stay out of that house and all of these was as a result of the rumours that spread about this house, the major conclusion being that this house was haunted and worse still people have been reported dead for unknown reasons in this house, well that was none of my business and i cant get scared by myths and folktales, besides i was an atheist who doesn't believe in the supernatural and this house was cheap, way cheaper than other houses in the entire state. I looked at the neighborhood surround the house and i could notice on thing - THEY WERE ALL DESERTED! "Hmm silly rumours spread fast" i muttered,
Now at the entrance i brought out the key the agent has given me and inserted it into the key hole, the door made a loud creaking noise as it opened and I entered the house, the first thing I noticed was how clean the house was I was surprised at first because even the real estate agent had told me that I would have a lot of cleaning to do cause this it's been long anyone had even opened the door of this house.
Well I was impressed by how clean it was and was admiring the whole house as I made to my bedroom, as I got there I yawned hard, "maybe the sight of a well laid out bed can make someone feel sleepy" I thought and besides I was tired from all the trekking so I decided to take a little nap.
It was dark when I woke up that I guessed it was around midnight, cold breeze blew in through the open window making a woosshh sound and flapping the curtains, the breeze blew on the lighted candle but it was not strong enough to kill the flame, I was still half awake when the realisation dawned on me! Which sent cold chills down my spine and i jolted immediately out of the bed, I DIDN'T OPEN THE WINDOWS AND I DIDN'T LIGHT A CANDLE! "maybe the scary stories were true after all" I thought and ran out of the room and also out of the house yelling, with no sense of direction all I knew was I needed to get as far away from the house as I could. A regretful decision that almost cost me my life, I'm a lucky man to be here today and tell you this story
END OF FIRST PART! STAY TUNED FOR THE SECOND PART.
