Your right to a decision

in #writing7 years ago

Before 2017 ends, let me say something I think is important.

Elderly people in particular, because they're fond of giving homilies, need to realise this:

Age doesn't confer you with a right over people's lives.

People determine who they deem fit to accord rights over their lives to; Age doesn't award you a perquisite to this.

Whenever you offer someone an advise, the person is at his/her volition to adhere to your advise. It's not your prerogative to determine that.

You don't have any right over another person's life.

If someone else willingly submits to your choices regarding his/her life, it's a privilege, not a right.

The apparent truth is, you can't claim such privilege from someone you didn't birth, you don't pay bills for, or, you don't add any value to.

You don't see someone, and then think because you're older, you're entitled to choke them with your decisions.

Please, don't carry such entitlement mentality into 2018. Don't even carry any entitlement mentality at all. Nobody owes you shit.

Let's all learn to respect our boundaries.

Your exclusive right to a decision ends with you.

Your right dear we owe our selves the right to decide. Decision making should not be copyrighted rather from within.

True, very true

Thank you

True though, but the laws of the land and parental standing places constraint upon your personal rights. This implies that there are decisions you can not make solely because it may in the long run affect a third party. However, you are at liberty to adopt or discard advises from an external factor pertaining to some personal issues. Why I said some is because some personal issues may be state matter [based upon the ideas of Kenneth Waltz]. This is explicable in the case of a suicidal attempt. If one tries to take his life, fails in the attempt and is apprehended by the authorities, he is to be tried in the law court for attempted suicide which is supposed to be 'personal'. This is my humble postulation as a reaction to your excellent perspective to #life

I appreciate your perspective. Thank you, bro.

You are right

Thanks bro

Well i find it very annoying when a person thinks he / she has a right over your life or can just make a decision for you

This is very good
