What are you thinking today, Son?
A slight euphoria drifts over me now and then. Is this what's called a moment of Supreme Grace? Is this Heaven? No, no I don't think so. It can't be that good. It can't be Heaven because in Heaven there is no pain. And here, there is so much pain. I can't tell where the pain comes from. It's just pain. Maybe if someone removed the weights from my body, I could move around and try to find the source of the pain.
That woman standing there might know, but when I ask, she doesn't seem to be able to hear me. I raise my voice louder. I shout to her, but still she just moves quietly about the room. Poor lass, maybe she's deaf. I guess I shouldn't be so hard on her. She speaks to me and her voice is soft and soothing, but never once does she answer when I speak to her. I should like to see this angel of mercy, but my eyes don't seem to want to open. These eyes are heavy and feel as though there are stacks of gold coins on them, weighing them down. Maybe these eyes aren't mine? Maybe someone else has my eyes. My eyes were never this tired, nor were they so hard to open.

My friend, what a beautiful story from Rodney's perspective. You captured what he is probably feeling and going through. I know he can hear you but can't open his eyes but he probably does feel that you are an angel. That spiritual connection is what keeps him going! You are a very special angel. Keep on writing. It is a healing balm to your time while waiting. Sending more positive energy to you and Rodney!!! :D
Thank you so much @cabbagepatch! I know you gave me the best advice since joining Steemit, and that is to write. I am trying even though sometimes my mind is as tired as my body. I may come out with some truly off the wall writings :) It helps, too to do the memes. I find after I chuckle a bit, my perspective improves. Thank you for your continued positive energies!!
