The Power of the Human Spirit

Wednesday, the 9th of May 2018 is the historical date for my country. That was the day when I finally understood and experienced how the human spirit changed the fate of an entire nation.

Yes, the floodgates of change opened that day for Malaysia.

Being so privy to the ruling government's 'black magic', dirty tricks and selfish acts, Malaysians near and far stood strong and tall together as one to put an end towards a non-egalitarian era. It was as if we took down Saruman and Sauron with a stroke of a pen, literally. All we did was to just cast our votes; all 12 million of us (registered voters in total). We wanted change so much that some queued for 6 hours under the hot sun to cast their votes.

I remember how the next day after the elections felt to me. I felt ecstatic. I felt that we can all achieve anything together now. And it was the first time in a long time we all felt that way.

Then it dawned on me, imagine if we were to do the same for Earth as a whole.

What if one day, we had to pay for clean air? Or if we had to pay for one grain of sand, simply because the sea water level has risen so much that living on boats is considered normal. That would be the end of humanity, literally.

BUT...

Imagine if we could change the way we consume Earth's resources.
Imagine if we could get everyone to really appreciate nature - especially urban dwellers.
Imagine if there is no such thing as city or the countryside.
Imagine if we could all learn to understand the Earth's ecosystem, not just the naturalists or scientists.
Imagine if we could all live our lives in a way that is sustainable to Earth.
The list can go on.

For now we could only imagine. But when we ALL put our hearts and minds together, that imagination will become a reality; a dream come true for some and a gift of hope and humanity for others.

I believe that when one person's vision is strong enough, it would impact others around her. And when the spirit within is resilient enough, the test of time is but a tiny speck of dust in space and time.

The power of the human spirit is made up of everything beautiful in the Universe. It's a force that governs the law of the Universe, not just life. We all have it. All we need to do is just tap into it. And to tap into it, it begins with Nature. She's our first step towards inner alignment.

We must all remember that all source of life begins and ends with Nature. So how we wish to see the end, starts with how we live our lives today.

Let your human spirit dance with Nature. Let her rhythm guide you. When her rhythm is alive and well, you too, will be alive and well.
