COVERING OF GLORY
Every living thing, more especially man, craves for the basic need of safety and protection. Whether young or old, man or woman, seeks security. Where ever we find ourselves, we try to determine our safety before we make ourselves comfortable in such an environment. If we realize our safety is compromised in any way, we try to seek help from another place. As it is in the physical realm, so it is in the spiritual. Every being seeks and must of a necessity have a supernatural backing or supernatural covering of some sort. For those who serve the Almighty God, He is our covering as the devil is a covering for those who do not belong to the family of Christ.
There is a place in God where the believer is just untouchable by the devil. Psalm 91:1 says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”. God wants to provide shelter for His people from the diverse perilous pestilence that comes our way. There is a secrete place where this shelter is provided and it is those who dwell in this secrete place that receives and enjoy the maximum security of God. This is not a maximum security prison where you are held bondage, but rather the presence of Jehovah himself where there is liberty and at His right hand are pleasures evermore. Job found himself in this secret place. “So Satan answered the LORD and said, ‘Does Job fear God for nothing? Have you not made a hedge around him, around his household and around all that he has on every side?’ ...” (Job 1:9-10). The devil i believe tried to touch Job but didn’t succeed because the hedge of protection was intact.
Unfortunately, believers find themselves prone to diverse attacks and afflictions from the devil simply because we do not dwell in His secret place. We walk in total deception by thinking we are really causing much damage to the kingdom of Satan that is why we get attacked by him from every side. Don’t be carried away by this great deception. Psalm 91:9-10 expressly declares, “Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your habitation, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling”. This is the word God concerning you as long as you dwell in the secret place. We find ourselves s habitual visitors instead of becoming inhabitants of the secret place. We go there once in a while when things get tough in our lives and we have nowhere to turn to. When you move out of His secret place you break the hedge of protection He provides and the devil, which moves about like a roaring lion, just pounds on and devours you.
In the secret place of God, His glory is made manifested. It is this glory that commands the protection of God in your life. It is written in the book of Isaiah, “And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon the glory shall be a defense” (Isaiah 4:5). The favour of God will cause you to be strategically positioned in a place where you will have an encounter with the glory in the season of the supernatural occurrences. Moses said to God to reveal His glory to him if he had found favour in the sight of God (Ex 31:13-19). God was also willing to show Moses His glory, but first of all Moses had to be in the right atmosphere: the secret place. “But He said, ‘You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live’. And again He said, ‘Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by’” (Exodus 33:20-13).
There is a place where God reveals His glory, and this place is by Him. When we are at this place we will see God and not die. First of all, this place is a rock and it is by Him. Jesus is that rock, and He is seated at the right hand of God the Father in heavenly places, far above all principalities and power and might and dominion, and every name that is name. As long as we are in Christ we can see the Father. Jesus told his disciples that they have seen the Father because they had seen Him Jesus. 2Cor 3:18 says “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord”. This was the place God put Moses in order for him to see His Glory. It is already evident that God places us at a secured place for us to have an encounter. A place where nothing has the ability to touch us, and as long as we remain there, we are protected.
God Himself meets us at the secret place. In given Moses the blue-print of the tabernacle, there was to be a prepared a place called the Holy of Holies which was the innermost chamber of God. There, the Ark of Covenant was kept. The ark of covenant contained the Testimony, which is the WORD of God. On the Ark of Covenant was the Mercy Seat which signified the throne of God (Exodus 25:20-21). And God said in verse 22, “And there i will meet with you, and i will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony”.
The purpose of the two cherubs is to provide a covering and a defence for the glory of His presence over the mercy seat. In the dispensation of the move of God, when you encounter the glory of God, Cherubs are put on assignment on your behalf to protect that which God has put in you. Moses understood the importance of the presence of God, and for that matter His Glory. As long as you have the presence of God with you, His glory will automatically abide in and around you, attracting His divine protection.
When you have the glory made manifested in your life, you have rest on every side. God said in Exodus 33:14 “My Presence will go with you, and i will give you rest”. When you have the presence going before you, you will fear no evil. When God’s glory is made manifested in your life, He is committed to protect you because upon the glory there shall be a covering.
In times like this all you need is the glory of God. As long as you have the glory, you have all it takes to excel. Every step you take will be guarded by God Himself. For you to have supernatural occurrences in your life, you must endeavour to seek His secret place where God can reveal Himself unto you. Desire to always dwell in the secret place by prayer, fasting, and living the WORD of God to the fullest. By so doing you will be at rest, though a thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, there shall not come near you. Get ready for the manifestation of the glory of God in your life because you are favoured of the LORD. AMEN
