Yes that pretty much seems what I think about emotion and reason. In fact presented much more eloquently than I ever could.

I think knowing more about ourselves will allow us to become more Spock-like; to observe our own emotions from just enough distance to allow a fraction of a second of logical thinking before we make decisions. When it's needed. Other times then, we could simply choose to let go and flow with the moment. :)

Knowing more about our emotions, about how statistics can lie, about how many different kinds of bias can affect our observations, knowing more about the scientific method... I think this could help everyone.

Definitely agree here. Been reading Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman. That does a great job going into cognitive biases.
