World 2060

In this post, I have decided to show my awesome powers of future telling. I am going to play the role of THE SEER. Sounds cool, right?
Truth be told, the only thing I am going to do is to create a plausible world future.

So, without further ado, this is my version of how the world will look like in 2060 (if the monkeys don't take over the world - movie "Planet of the apes really scare me")

2030

The year is 2030. Demand for the resources on the planet has never been higher. The pace of scientific breakthroughs is being slowed down, due to lack of government funding, while the private sector doesn't want to invest without government support and guarantees. Space exploration could provide an answer to many global issues, but no country is powerful enough to fully fund the necessary technological advancements. A need arose for tighter connections between world countries. Member states of NATO and EU, and their allied countries determined to create a multinational organization with a common science and education department, common development funds and also with other connections, like some common laws, mutual benefits and a beneficial taxation system. The organization is named UFP (United for prosperity).

Very similar initiative also arose in the Far East, led by Japan. Far East organization is called Lions of the East. The organization was established parallel to the UFP and became one of the main partners of the UFP. The goal of the Lions of the East is to reclaim the title of the Innovation centre of the world.

2030 - 2045

In the years to come more and more countries joined the UFP, seeing the potential of the organization. After a short period of adaption UFP gladly accepted new members because thee needs it guaranteed more stable political situations in the world and the focus of joining countries on the common UFP goals
further hastened the technological development needed to conquer the cosmic frontier.

Connections between UFP and Lions of the East are getting stronger and stronger. Their roles are becoming strongly defined, on mutual satisfaction. Lions of the East are the world leaders in innovations in various scientific fields and future groundbreaking technologies, while UFP is constantly improving these new technologies, implementing them while still developing their own space exploration technologies.

2050

Superpowers China and Russia realized the potential their alliance possesses. Facing the fate of falling behind the UFP and Lions of the east hey formed their own political structure that includes most of the Asian countries except India and Himalayan countries. They call it the Alliance. Purpose of the Alliance is to adopt new ways of solving major world problems and to create a sustainable environment. The potential of the Alliance is enormous, they can easily rival UFP in technological advancements, so they created a space program which goals are identical to those of the UFP - creating industrial colonies outside Earth, and also creating habitation colonies.
Cooperation between the UFP and the Alliance can now be established more easily because no organization has the upper position in the talks. Both sides have the same goal - improving living conditions on Earth so the cooperation comes only naturally. Also, the ultimate prize of both political structures is to tap into endless riches of the space, so in that way, they represent no competition to each other.

Big markets that weren't included in already existing three structures like African countries, Middle East, India, Brazil and rest of the American countries followed the trend in the world of coming together. Their organization is called TOP (Transoceanic partnership). Their goal is to establish and maintain good relations with the remaining three powerful entities while becoming the world leaders in the traditional industries needed to sustain human existence like metallurgy, textile industries, food production, oil refining and many others.

2060 summary

The world is now balanced between four major blocks. Roles of the blocks are distinguished, small tensions occur from time to time, but the peace is established due to the sense of bigger goals and purpose put before the entire mankind. COoperation so far has proven to be more effective than the competition. Human existence has been ensured, space is now ready to be conquered.

I know what are you thinking, no destruction, world wars - blah, boring and impossible.
Well, I believe it is possible, and I would like that this is how the world looks like in 40 years. Peace and everyone together looking at the challenges of the future.
