RE: Older - wiser, younger - reckless, how true is it?

in #writing7 years ago

I'll be the old person who comes on to say, you need the balance.

You must be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Some older people show a level of ignorance that is truly frightening, but so do some young people.

It is not about age.

The only thing age gives us, those of us lucky enough to continue here that is, is that you simply have had more chances to fail.

and failure is where we learn, if indeed we want to learn.

These failures can be fatal, that why not everyone makes it to old age.

no-one here gets out alive.
As Jim Morrison pointed out.

I myself am only at old age's door, but I can finally see what it has to offer.

much love and may you grow old gracefully, when the time comes.

Sort:

Yes, I totally agree, age is just a number, there are ignorant people in all ages, that is why I think, even though you should show respect to your elders, take everything anyone says with a grain of salt, use your own head!
And failures are the best learning experiences, because nobody wants to get burned twice.

Thank you :)

you are very welcome.
