The Universe is infinitely vast, and the human brain can only compute a limited scope of that data. Factor in social programming and indoctrination, and the brain focuses in on an even smaller data set at the exclusion of all else. I believe using psychedelics is like downloading new software so you can interface with a larger scope of reality.
