I agree with you when you say that people can sometimes be a jerk when they tell you to read books rather than watch the movie. Sometimes they want to look cooler or show that they are a bigger fan of the series. But sometimes they may even be right. But hey, what we like and don't like depend on us. There are movies that entertain me much more than the novels they are based on, while sometimes its the opposite.
