I'm pretty much the same age. One of my earliest memories of Star Wars was seeing these huge hand painted Star Wars movie banners hanging outside my local movie theater doors. My Dad had a projector and we had a star wars trailer reel. I can still remember the smell the projector made when he played it over and over for me.
