On May 10 in Assam, India, a baby goat was born with one enlarged eye on its forehead. After birth a local veterinary checked the cyclopes kid and predicted that  the kid would only live within a few days. The optical nerves of this newborn cyclopes kid are not forming properly, so, the kid is now blind. It has also only one ear. And it has no eyelashes, eyelids, and nose.

The kid has a special rare condition which is called Cyclopia. Cyclopia is a rare congenital disorder that happens in both humans and animals (mostly happens in horses, pigs, cows, cats and sharks). This occurs in the womb. The embryo's brain's frontal lobe did not isolate the left and right hemispheres. The result is the formation of a central cavity having one eye or sometimes partially fused or separate eyeballs. Creatures with the condition are normally stillborn or die shortly after due to breathing and brain problems.

The prediction of the local veterinary has failed, the baby goat survived. Mukhuri Das, the owner of this miracle kid announced the news of his kid. And now people are coming to his place just to see this miracle goat. The villagers considered this cyclopes kid to be sacred and already gaining worshippers.

Mukhuri believes that almighty God sent him this one-eyed baby goat. He also believes that the kid will bring his family luck and already make them famous.

it is rather interesting how in the dawn of biological evolution so many people remain uneducated about DNA alterations and see these as sacred beings. Also, most of the times these beings tend to die. We only get to see on the media those who do survive, hence the hype.

More or less this is a form of confirmation bias.

Its a common religious practice in India to venerate animals like elephans, goat, rat, and cow. So I am not amazed if they are worshiping this one eyed- goat.

you're absolutely right :)
