Adaugo while lying on Mike's legs in the bedroom at that very horrible moment of the night made a soul travel.
Soul travel is an esoteric reality which is made available for the privileged few to use and understand. It is a magical process of one's spirit traveling without its mortal body.
There are basic principles guiding soul travel, adherence to the principal ones assures maximum efficiency but abuse of such principles will lead to a disaster. Most at times, demons, unfortunately, are trapped on the electric poles and got seen by mortals. This is a consequence of defaulting in the rules of soul travel.
Before she moved, Mike suddenly felt a cold wind that made him feel weak and sleepy, then she moved out of her body. But Mike didn't lose all consciousness, even though he was sleepy, he felt and noticed that Adaugo's body was extremely cold like a corpse in the morgue. Sofia, was in her room, praying. When the spirit got to her room, because it was the very night she planned to set Sofia's sun, and close her chapter for ever. But the little girl's prayer was projecting flames that made her change her mind and kept it for another day. Then, she disappeared.
"now tell me, how did we have the accident? " Alex asked his co-victim, as he woke up from a short sleep.
"the last thing I could remember was that evil bird that perched on the wind screen ", Patience replied, turning to him and adjusting her cloth that partially exposured her nudity.
"where are you from?"
"from Umuoti " , Patience, replied.
"if you leave here, where will you going ?" she asked.
At this question, Alex was quiet, he never had any particular place in mind.
"no place, no where. I am just confused. Everything is happening at the same time"
"we will go home after discharge. Will you come with me? "she asked, staring at him in the eyes.
Mike nodded in agreement. Their conversation led the night to exactly 2am. Then suddenly, their windows closed with a great force, which made them wonder why such a force since the night was really windless.
A door in the Children's Ward closed with the same force. Children's ward was a hospital unit where children and babies are treated and managed. That very sound was a concern to the ward matron, she got up from her seat and went closer to the very door, stood a moment only to observe a dark figure, looking like a dragon, it was a monster. Before she was able to scream and run away, the monster entered into her. The Matron's eyes were radiating red ray and she became so powerful and possessed that she started eating all the babies and children in her care. She killed all of them and sucked their blood.
When she was done, she headed to the emergency room where Patience and Alex were admitted. They were saying a night prayer. actually, Alex came of a Christian family and he would do all things but pray. Even though he told the little Sofia to stop crying but pray, for him, prayer was a waste of time, he would only do the sign of the cross and either sleep or go away. It was a magic and an absolute miracle that he survived the demonic attacks of Adaugo. It was Patience's idea that they should pray. The prayers didn't allow the demonic possessed matron to attack them.
when she tried and didn't succeed, she went to the room where co-nurses were sleeping, she killed them all with teeth like that of vampires. Many patients were found in the pool of their own blood in the morning while the matron was found hanging in the tree, blood oozing out of her mouth and anus , she was dead. Alex and Patience left immediately while the police came to take reports.

" Adaugo's body was so cold as though a corpse in the mortuary refrigerator . She was breathless and motionless. " Mike wondered as he got up from the bed.
"come to think of it, how did I fall in such a deep sleep!? " he rhetorically asked himself. He yawned and stretched himself out, then got up and paced towards the window, watching through it as some butterflies played in the Orchard.
"this was how Alex and I played around. Where could he be now? Hope he is strong and alive", he thought, scratching his head and yawned softly then hissed.

Adaugo was in the kitchen preparing breakfast while Sofia was taking her bath in the bathroom. A messenger of darkness came in through the wall.
" Serpent, I came in the name of the Supreme master of darkness, I was directed to inform you that the soul of this young man, called, Mike, is needed. His blood is so much needed in the covenant pot tonight. Failure to do so, you'll be destroyed ", the messenger delivered his message and disappeared.
It was impossible to hurt Adaugo except her blood dropped on the floor for so long. The more she bled without attention and treatment to stop bleeding, her power will reduce and she will disappear finally. Her demonic name was, Serpent while her worldly name was Adaugo Mgbe.
Adaugo nodded in agreement since she knew the consequences of a default. She decided to carry out the instructions by sunset. She was to slice a tomato for small early morning sauce for a breakfast.
"Nooooooooooooo! " a scream came from the kitchen and Mike rushed in, behold Adaugo was profusely bleeding, she cut herself in the finger, which was against the rule of her fortification. Her blood was deep green. She was getting weaker, her eyes changing, she was crying and begging for help. If Mike had delayed a second, she would be spiritually dead and would return to the kingdom of darkness to serve in prison like many other infidels.
Mike quickly tore his shirt and rushed towards her, covered her wound with the cloth. Rushed into his room and grabbed his first aid box and headed to the kitchen. He cleaned her green bleeding wound, and applied a bandage on it, then carried her up to his room where he laid her on the bed petting her to sleep. This was how she was saved on that very morning .
When she woke up, the sudden care and unconditional love Mike showered on her changed her notion about men. They altered her mission, her ambition changed, her feelings returned, she felt loved, cared for and cherished by someone whom she was instructed to destroy before sunset. Tears dropped from her eyes for the first time after her death. She looked into Mike's eyes and saw sparkles of genuine love in its fullness . She was sure that Mike knew she wasn't a true human being but still went on to save her life for the second time . It was at this time she told Mike her story and the story goes this way................................
