Being exposed by education world for many years, I must be very thankful to the superman/woman called “teachers”, their devotion and loyality has brought me to the nature which I did not even know before. The undeniable fact is the teacher does not only work at school from morning till afternoon, but also they still have a lot of things to do at home concerning for tomorrow school-preparation for sure, and some people do not know that, what I am going to talk about is obviously referring to teachers who work by heart, professional, and loyal to his profession.

Oke stemizens, some people may think that teacher is kind of easy job, cheap and we do not need to work hard for teaching, underestimating them as a very low level job which means all human being can easily possessed it, just standing in front the class and speaking out, no need certain skill, isn’t it? But unfortunately this thought is coming from people who never experienced on it, they don’t even know how hard to do that job, trust me!

Teachers must have a formal qualification first, teachers have 4 level to work with, lowest age, elementary, junior and senior. This put the teachers into hard fight in preparing this job, struggling for certificate and teaching professional licence legalized by government. In Indonesia regarding to status, teacher is divided into 2 : government employee and non-government employee, government employee is the teacher who is paid by government with standardized salary, but non-government teacher will earn nothing from government, they are paid based on how much time they work in the class, amazingly there are still many non-government teachers getting salary as volunteer, which means no standardized earning, Rp. 100.000 per month ( 1 dollar = 13.259 Rupiahs) what a poor salary.

HERE ARE 35 FACTS OF THE TEACHER WE SHOULD KNOW :

1. Teacher don’t only work from 7.am till 3.pm, but also they work at home to prepare for the next day teaching.
2. To be a teacher is not an alternative but initiative, teachers dedicated their life to raise up young generation.
3. Teachers have been very familiar with frustration due to the case they face, whether they recognize student potentiality while they can not deal with appropriate method yet to raise it up.
4. Teachers love to see high spirit student in learning.
5. Teachers are respectful and grateful to parents who aware of his children, academic ability, talent and supporting teachers in education
6. Teacher is human being who still have strength and weaknesses
7. Teachers really want everybody support them in education
8. Teacher is a creative, since they work hard to imitate others teaching style to be implemented, but their style still different
9. Teacher is “upgraded superman”, who keep upgraded all the time to find the newest knowledge for their student
10. Teacher have favorite student eventhough they do not say it clearly
11. Teachers look very upset when stedents’ parent do not realize that education is a collaboaration between teachers and parents
12. Teachers had planned everything for teaching, and they hate everything disturb their plan
13. Teacher must teach student with different style, different strategy and method in class because each student have different capacity.
14. Teachers dislike people who blame a disloyal teacher in stead of talking about many other loyal teacher
15. Teachers really hate “politicized education”
16. Teachers do not always fell comfortable with the material they are going to teach, sometimes they need to modify for fixing
17. Honestly, teachers do not want their students getting failed, they work hard to see their students success.
18. Teachers willingly spend his own money sometimes to support students needs in education
19. Teachers love to be a model for their student
20. Teachers never stop working, taking students from start point until finish, and back to start point next semester for the same cycle
21. Teachers fell frustrated on some other teacher who work disproportionatelly
22. Teacher love to use new technology to be used as long as they are well instructed
23. Teacher love holiday, they believe that spending time on holiday can give a fresh and new idea, recovering last busy day for better next coming meeting
24. Teacher always becomes most depressed person when his students do not understand the lesson
25. Teacher will do anything to teach student, eventhough he has to repeat the lesson for many times
26. Teachers can teach student one by one if it is needed, guiding each students from table to table
27. Teacher can possibly pick up student from anywhere to school, to let him join exams
28. Teachers know and understand students background, history, economy, and all things about his student
29. Teacher asked his absent student to clarify where and how they are, which mean teachers care.
30. Teacher keep trying to be calm with students misbehavior in teaching.
31. Students will be his student forever even both are getting old
32. Teacher will always ready to be a good listener and advisor for student even school had finished (graduated)
33. Students do not have to worry about “wages or tip”, because teachers never expect it from his student
34. Teacher never make calculation their time which is spent for students, means time is not money for teacher
35. The happiest thing teachers fell is “ex-student greeting”, not given money.
