RE: Who Killed Peter Rabbit?
Thanks @carolkean. I thought I had made a short post about this before right after it happened but couldn’t find it anywhere. I was looking through my photos and saw Peter Rabbit’s photo and it brought back the terrible memories of his demise.
Maybe I'm confusing your story with my daughter's - her cat actually killed a baby rabbit in their backyard and dropped it at their door as a "gift." All the forensic evidence pointed to him even if he himself hadn't confessed (proudly, unapologetically!) to his crime. I searched online for a similar story and nothing came up, so my de ja vous is from an unknown source that has left no trace in cyberspace. ;)
Sorry about the baby rabbit. Cats love to hunt and proudly give their spoils as gifts. A baby rabbit would be quite defenceless but a full grown one would put up a fight, get in a few licks, leaving marks on the cat.
My daughter - age 25 at the time! - was traumatized. I grew up on a farm. I've seen much worse. :) Daughter and I, though, have a great fondness for Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit series, so that doesn't help. :)
