Lost

Standing at the edge of the shore, avoiding the last trickle of water hitting the bare feet. The specks of sand creeping in the crevices of the toes. Violent waves crashing under stormy nights. Gazing into the endless horizon to live a little, yet, a million things wrong in this moment.

Giving regard to the ocean’s calls, he drowns himself in the depths. And breathes. Submerged realities and buoyant desires. Kept alive by the current, only to drown and lose himself in the multitude of possibilities.

Staring above, sinking in. The ripples undulating the image of the moon. One last look before the water rushes in. One last thought of the breeze, swaying his hair in front of his eyes and the eyes stealing glances from the glistening surface of the ocean. Just lost in the tide.

Getting lost was not his fault. He just didn’t know, we are just tiny flecks of dust in the hourglass. Floating in the air, waiting to be tilted upside down and start over again.
