How To Write A Book {Start to finish} Chapter 0 Who What Where When Why

in #writing6 years ago

This is where I'm dumping my work on writing a book - follow along to see how it goes from start to finish - To understand what all this is, click on the link to see my video on Chapter 0 - Who, What, Where, When, Why - Know your audience.

In this series, I am going to walk you through how to write a book and by the end of it, I’m going to have a very rough manuscript completed for you all to see - to see that this is very possible to do. I’m going to break this course up and do one video every Monday to see how I’m progressing and do the brainstorming process with you because the actual writing isn’t interesting to film.

But before we get into writing a book, we need:
The why behind the book - what is motivating you to write a book - doesn’t have to be deep. Who are you writing to - this is important - great ideas are not enough - be as specific as possible and stick to this and write an ideal book for your core audience. What are you writing about - this is open to flexibility but always make sure to have some kind of general theme or story arch.

WHY - Why am I writing this book?

The night is always darkest before its dawn. The old guard is dying, yet darkness still looms. I am writing this book because I believe that if Jordan Peterson has told us anything, it’s that there are a lot lost souls out there that need guidance. Often called “Angry White Men” by the legacy media, these lost souls have been stripped of their energy and masculinity - they are starved for positive Male role models some of whom were seldom ever taught anything by a man. I write this book for them.

This isn’t going to be your average successful entrepreneur book - it’s going to go deep than that, to foster more deep seeded meaning within the lives of these future leaders. I believe that success and deep philosophical ideals go hand in hand and I plan on weaving both schools of thought into one single book.

WHO

Gender: Males
Age: 18-35
Occupation: Entrepreneurs / wannabe entrepreneurs who are looking to take the next step in moving forward and taking on bigger challenges in their lives.
Interests: Thinkers - people who are comfortable with thinking a little deeper than the skin and who are also looking for meaning in their lives.
Outliers: In particular, those that may not have “fit in” in school and were therefore outliers - the school system doesn’t know how to deal with outliers on both ends of the spectrum - the outliers need this information more than the those who may have benefited from the rigidity of our education system and the outliers are also far more likely to be successful as an entrepreneur over working in a large office.
The major drawback to these outlier types is a lack of confidence and deep seeded understanding. I want to show them both in one book.
I consider myself one of these outliers so it’s only natural to write to those who I believe that I can connect with most.

WHEN

Book Due Date: March 1, 2019

WHAT - Generally, what do you want your book to be about?

I want to do this in a way by focusing on the words and the language at play - delving deep into how language is a tool for navigating our reality, studying the past, and foreseeing the future.

Opening preface explaining how cause and effect works - essentially how to fix any problem and then use this system to diagnose what I believe the cause of today’s woes to be. Use the rest of the book to look at the symptoms that are the effect of the original cause(s) and suggest ways to cure them at the level of the individual.

Persistence in 2018 - the evolution of media and the smearing of the Good. I am enthralled by the Kavanaugh hearing. The idea that a 36 year old accusation can bring down a Supreme Court nominee and that our media is OK with dragging both accuser and accused through the mud for views.

I want to know what is the Good that I speak of - a section on Ethics and Morals perhaps.
I want to describe the media in such a way that exposes its true colors - a section on the Death of the Legacy Media and the rise of Alternative Media
I want to write about the search for Truth and why Truth has become the new hate speech for a small yet vocal minority - another section on this

I want this to be encompassed with chapters focused on improving the lives of my target audience.
