Brazil nuts are an excellent source of vitamin E, as they contain 7.87 milligrams per 100 grams. This vitamin is a lipid-soluble antioxidant and is used by the body to maintain the integrity of the cell membrane of the mucous membranes and the skin, protecting it from free radicals that cause tumors and cancer cells.
It has a lot of selenium
Selenium is a mineral that the body can not produce on its own, this means that it must be obtained through food and water. The levels of this mineral found in Brazil nuts help fight free radicals, regulate thyroid function and prevent blood clotting, thus preventing heart disease.
