Man's Greatest Asset
Assets are valuables. They could be in different shapes and sizes. In recent times, man has shifted base from looking for alleviation to looking for elevation. I personal took a rough estimate of what could a man best possess. And the end result of my research, conclusively, after long thoughtful and adequate measurement, *pen is my resolve. Little wonder the #Englishman said, the pen is mightier than the sword

All that a man has possess will soon become history. But his #writings would live many centuries after him. You may wonder if I am being magical in my writing. Truth is that there are many instances to be site in reference to this discours.
The #colonial masters referred to Africa as a non- literate society because the art of writing was far from the African discovery or development. Surprisingly, in recent time, African writers have been superb inntheir display of talent and skill. Professor Whole Soyinka, is a proud son of mother Africa.
I'd like to repeat again, "all of man's possessions will sooner than later become archaic". Chimamanda Adichie in her recent book launch discovered that most of her books are appreciated overseas than on the African continent.
Leopold Senghor(image source)[http://www.sofoot.com/un-homme-un-stade-leopold-sedar-senghor-435788.html] Senegalese poet and politician who became Senegal's first president in 1960. A great supporter of the arts. His political thought are still in libraries and students study them.

This man championed the rights of the Ogoni people in the Delta region of Nigeria whose land was being despoiled by crude oil extraction, dumping and waste. All this he did via his pen.
Mahatma Gandhi(source)[https://www.google.com/search?q=mahatma+gandhi&prmd=ivnsb&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjKou-X5ZPZAhWF-qQKHZI6DvoQ_AUIBigB#mhpiv=8&spf=1518005913428] inspirational Indian writer, nationalist and political leader who pursued a nonviolent civil disobedience during the British rule. Assassinated in January 1948, his writings are all being bread as we speak.
The list of living writers whose legacies linger onare too numerous. Some of them are:

Dele Giwa
Karl Marx
Semb`ene Ousmane
Christopher Okigbo
Ben Okri
Anai°s Non
James Baldwin
