Just Write (Original Blog)

in #writing7 years ago

I always keep in mind that No One will ever write what I can write how I write it, and the same applies to you
You have something to give and share and it is unique to your own approach and delivery

So with that at the forefront of my thoughts, I just write

Sometimes I sit at my computer, or stare at my notepad and I have no idea what I'll write
But most times it doesn't matter

I've been writing for over 16 years now
and I am not stopping now

I was writing before I found Steemit, and I'll be writing here after

I write from inspiration and as well as forcing myself to do something positive or productive

Literally every sentence I am jotting or writing down is refining/fine-tuning and sharpening my mind for the next big opportunity that will come my way

Could you imagine if I was just at a standstill?
Scared to share my thoughts or showcase any rough draft material?

I have rarely shied away from sharing my creative works, even if they weren't finished

I have some friends who literally work on their projects for what seems like forever and they never share it with anyone
It's great to try and be a perfectionist and give the best of you at your own expectations,
but frankly, keeping in mind my wife and two children

I could die at any moment, we all could, it is inevitable,

and if I didn't share my work ever due to wanting to be flawless and perfect
I wouldn't have gotten so far in life with impacting people positively, especially through my writing and musician careers

I don't know how many times I've laughed at my old work that i have publicized only to come back to it after many years, and realize how much I have improved

Especially writing rhymes, songs, singing and rapping

Oh...I was terrible at it

Okay maybe not completely terrible, but bad enough. If I tried to rap or sing what I had written back then, I would cringe in the middle of many sentences how cliche, bland, predictable and nonsensical the content was

So whatever it is you write about, keep writing about it,
you're guaranteed to learn different angles and approaches to it and broaden your perspective on the bigger picture and purpose of why you do what you do

When I feel I want to write again, I will without hesitation, at least Steemit rewards me with a real community and with cryptocurrency rather than ghost town Facebook. It's crazy how FB can have so many users, yet the feeling of that place seems way less social as opposed to Steemit. It has a very cold feeling to it, even if the display of the websites are more modernized. Maybe that is just the psychological aspect of having the right presentation to make a place tolerable. But its the users who make FB what it really is, not FB itself. I'm glad to be sharing my content here and promoting Steemit on FB.

That's why I don't understand how people can even complain about Steemit that much when we are getting rewarded for speaking our minds, following our dreams and passions and sharing our gifts and talents and knowledge with one another. Especially now that STEEM is well above 1 USD now.

I can't focus on the success of others and compare them to myself. I do what I do, and they do what they do. I have to improve myself and influence others to do the same and be a good example, especially for whatever I leave behind to my children, family and friends, so consistency and purpose is how I progress here on Steemit

I'll be back again later. Thanks for reading my blog

Thank you 😊 @ peacemaker

Thank you for reading and leaving an appreciative comment. Hope your day goes well

Great and really thoughtful!!! i really loved reading that!! :))

I am so glad you enjoyed it and that you could take something profound from my inner thoughts, sometimes I just want to write and give my input, but my @verbal-d profile is more my perfectionist side in regards to grammar, structure and presentation, but my @peacemaker profile is more raw and uncut, not too much extensive detail, and more focused on the content I write

It feels good to just write, copy and paste a few gifs and press POST :)

I am sure you can relate to the time consumption preparation of a perfect post

Look up Julia Cameron. I used her sound of paper book to get myself a goin' :) in the writing world. She is a professor and amazing. I am currently using her Artist's Way.

You are appreciated.

Thank you for the guiding insight, I am humbled by your appreciation. I will definitely look into Julia Cameron and see what knowledge and inspiration she has to offer. Much gratitude for that

Namaste -- I am honored by the amount of creativity that I am seeing on this wonderful platform. My goal has always been to make a difference -- check it out, going global :)

That's great my friend, so glad to hear this, I'll be checking your profile for a new post, we must make a difference while we can and are alive

Bro! BINGO!! It's nice to see someone on the same wavelength. I wrote something like this the other day, but not as eloquent. No one can do you better than you and no one can do me better than me, and the more we do it the better we get. I've had to get over my fear of not being perfect or finished and just putting something out there. It's all a part of the precess. This is a 5 star post!! Absolutely UV, RS, and F

lol thanks so much for your positive energy, I can read the excitement and enthusiasm in your writing and it is very cool to see that we share the same beliefs on this topic. I definitely can stand by the growth process, we must keep pushing forward otherwise if we always look back after every attempted or completed step, we wouldn't be able to notice the entire distance we have traveled.

Kind of like how a child asks, are we there yet, every minute or so on the road trip instead of admiring the surrounding scenery and environment that they are road tripping through.

Again, I appreciate your comment and I'll be checking out your open mic entry later on

Well said brother

Thank you bro

This was very reassuring. thanks for sharing this with us! @peacemaker

So glad you could take something positive from this, you are most welcome !

I think personally in art world Perfectionism is overrated. It kills creative fun.
You mention you laugh by reading your old work.. thats normal thanks to it you know you grown as an artist! But in the same time I understand your point of view. It's hard to don't pay attention on details when it knows it could build something much interesting! Really cool post! Thanks of sharing it. I hope you will visit my steam ;)

Thank you very much for your input, glad you found it cool and you could take something positive and thoughtful from it. I'll definitely give your profile a look!

This is so encouraging, brother. More than you know. You know, this is where your conviction really shines. The one-minded focus to improve and succeed that you exude is really infectious. I wish every Steemian writer has an opportunity to read this. Since I've just re-steemed your dedication poem, I'm going to space it out and re-steem this some other day, maybe tomorrow, so that more and more people get a chance to read it. Amazing work, my brother!

Thank you bro, I am glad you found the encouraging positive message in this, and I appreciate the resteem and help as always
