8 BIBLE VERSES YOU WON’T BELIEVE ACTUALLY EXISTS.

In this post, I will be talking about 8 bible verses that will shock you and even believers too are not very familiar with them. The goal is not to condemn or condone the bible or the religion, rather the goal is to expose people to the unfamiliar verses in the bible that I find weird and my interpretation to these verses. I didn’t write the bible so I will try to give scripture references so you can verify them if you want to. So let’s start already...

(1) God hates some people

We have always heard so many times that God loves us so much to the extent that he went ahead to sacrifice his only son so that we can have eternal life. But the Bible records that he hated Esau while he was still in his mother’s womb, that is, even before he was born for no particular reason - Romans 9: 11-13 quote “though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad, in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of his call, the elder will serve the young, as it is written, Jacobs I loved but Esau I hated”.
Continuing with God’s hatred of man, Psalm 7: 11 say quote, “God is angry with the wicked everyday” and the wicked by the way are identified as everyone, for in Romans 3 he said quote “No one is righteous, no not one; and in verse 12, he also made it clear that there is no one who does good, no not one.” Even Hosea 9:15 mentioned that he hated Israel because of their evil deeds and will not love them anymore.

(2) God holds the record for killing of most people

Of all the characters in the bible who killed others in its pages, no one ranks up a greater body count within the context of the scriptures than God himself. From drowning the global population apart from eight persons inside Noah’s Ark to frying every inhabitant in the two cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, from slaying all the first born of Egypt to killing twenty-three thousand Israelites for complaining and just to mention but a few.
The bible itself mentions that God is responsible for every dead individual on earth since him alone holds the key to life and death – Revelations 1:18 says quote “I am he that liveth and was dead and behold I am alive for evermore. Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. The biblical teaching is that no one can die unless God decrees it.

(3) God created Evil

The bible records that God is good, so good that he cannot look upon evil- Habakkuk 1:13. So where did evil come from? God personally takes credit for it by saying it comes from him, after all he is the one who placed the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the midst of the Garden of Eden. Genesis 2:9 says quote “and out of the ground the Lord God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, the tree of life and also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil”.
And he himself admitted bluntly that he created evil- Isaiah 45:7 says quote “I form the light and created darkness, I make peace and create evil, and I the lord do all these things”.

(4) Jesus himself committed a Sin

The bible mentioned flat out that Jesus broke the Sabbath, and the same bible called him a sinner- John 9:16. The issue of the Sabbath day was a big deal in the Old Testament that it was listed among the Ten commandments- “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy”. Exodus 31:14 says quote “you shall keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people”.
Even the narrator of the new testament said to be the holy spirit said quote “therefore the Jews sought to all the more to kill him because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was his father, making him equal with God- John 5:18. The New Testament admits that Jesus did the very things Old Testament warned people not to do.

(5) Women can’t talk in church

This is actually very strange because in many churches nowadays, you see women holding different positions and even standing on alter to preach. Even when 1Corinthians 14:34-35 says quote “Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.
2 Timothy 2: 11-13 also says quote “and I don’t permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence”. From these scriptures, you will believe with me that if you have a church that has women speaking, you are looking at a church disobeying the very scripture they say they believe.

(6) God commands parents to stone a rebellious son

Deuteronomy 21: 18 says quote “if a man has a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother and though they chastise him, will not give heed to them, then his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of the city at the gate of where he lives and they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘this our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones so you shall purge away the evil from your midst and all Israel will hear and fear.

(7) God keeps people from salvation.

While 1 Timothy 2:3-4 says quote “this is good and is acceptable in the sight of God our savior, who desire all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth”, the bible also reveals that he blinds eyes of and hardens hearts so they can’t turn from sin and be turned. – John 12:37-40 says quote “but although he had done too many signs before them, they did not believe in him, therefore they could not believe for Isaiah says again, ‘he has blinded their eyes, lest they should see with their eyes, lest they should hear with their hearts and turn so I should heal them.”
The bible even admitted that he hardened the heart of pharaoh and that’s why upon all the signs did by Moses, he still didn’t allow the people of Israel go –Exodus 7:30 says quote “but I will harden pharaohs heart and although I multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, pharaoh will not listen to you; then I will lay my hands upon Egypt and bring fort my hosts, my people the sons of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great act of judgment.

(8) God predestines everyone for hell or heaven before their birth.

Going hand in hand with number 8, the bible preaches that god predestines or predetermine where people will spend eternity before time begins. In Timothy 1:9, it’s stated that God “who has saved us and called us his own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time begins.
Romans 9: 15-18 also says quote “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy and I will have compassion o whomever I will have compassion. So then it is not of him, who wills, nor of him who runs but of god who shows mercy. For the scripture says to pharaoh, for this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show my powers in you and my name may be declared in all the earth. Therefore he has mercy on whom he wills and whom he wills he hardens.
