Let's now go into our main subject.

THE EYES : THE WINDOW TO THE SOUL " . This is a metaphorical phrase used to describe how our eyes interpret the way we feel inside. Psychologically, emotionally, physically etc. The phrase is kinda strange, but it tries to relate how our eyes act like a channel through which the inner world of our thoughts, feelings etc., are expressed.

If you look into someone else's eyes, you could tell a whole lot about what is going on within the individual. As well as the kind of individual they are, based on the expressions in their eyes.

The eyes reveal the emotional state of an individual. An experimental submission based on "visual assessment cue "were made by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in their book “Frogs into Princes: Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) ” They discussed in detail, how the directional movement of the eyes reveals the truthfulness of any statement. Again because of the scope of this post, I will not go into what they found out in their experiment . You could google it and read further.

These days, smiling is employed as a form of social courtesy. But the question is, how can you differentiate a genuine smile from a fake smile? Usually to fake smile is not difficult. But it could give negative impression about you when someone who is knowledgeable in visual assessment cues discovers your pretence. Now look at the simple way to differentiate them, the muscles of the face surrounding the eyes will naturally crinkle when people genuinely smile. But the case is not so when it is faked.
So basically, the phrase denotes what the things the eyes tell us about a person which their verbal expressions might not .

Conclusively, the eyes could be seen as a channel through which the inner and outer world could be interpreted.
