The Frayed - Prologue

Prologue
His name was Max. You could say he was special. He was special to us, we needed him and we would do anything to get him. Fortunately, we control time and space so it’ll be easy to get him and put him right back where he was. Max also doesn’t know we exist so he is pretty much living a normal soon to be 10 year old life.

Oh my bad, you don’t know who we are, do you? We are The Frayed. Animals from across the galaxy who come together to keep everyone safe. To elaborate we all have different powers that work together to keep time and space going, and well one of our frayed is weak and we need Max to replace him. There are tons of animals across space with powers they didn’t know they had, which we just have to activate it for them.

So we have this library to train our fraries (newcomers basically) that show us if they are ready or not to help control time and space. Each book contains a story and each chapter contains a life. Our fraries have to go through each book until they find their story. Once they find their story, they have a choice, a simple one at that.

They are presented with 2 books, one with the title of their name, and the other with the title of their new name. You will understand what this means later but time to move on to what Max is doing. It’s his birthday today!

:Mom:
“Maximus it’s time to go open your presents!”
:Max:
“Yay, what did you get me momma?”
:Mom:
“You have to open it silly”
:Dad:
“Come on Max open them!!”

This is his life, but he is much more than this, he has so much potential. Don’t worry, once his work is done here he can safely go back to where he needs to be. We freeze their time so our fraries can work for us. Max is needed more now than anything! The Frayed are falling apart and we need someone to come save it. Evil beings called The Exporters have been trying to take over our gatherings for centuries now. We need Max and the help of a couple others to try and save us from a band of evil monsters, but first they need to go through training!

We have Max the Great, Jesse the Wealthy, Aria the Lion of the lord's, Gwenneth the Generous, and Pramila the Lover. All 5 combined can help stop The Exporters. Ever do I wonder how we ended up with these amazingly talented animals. We got the best of the best, by picking from 7 billion animals. We picked them from the planet Earth. We thought since Earth doesn’t get much attention nowadays since the attack we would throw them a bone and pick 5 animals.

Earthlings didn’t really grasp the concept of there actually being others out there. So us other beings decided to take a different route and kind of give them, what they call it, an ice age. Fortunately, over time we created these things called humans which later on became more reliable and smarter than the other animals.

That’s where I come in. I take kids from all over the worlds to help control time and space. Otherwise The Frayed would grow weak over time and not being able to bring balance to the universes. Max and tons of others thru the centuries have been helping us keep this balance so The Exporters don’t become powerful and bring destruction to us all.

You might be thinking, what does Max have to do with all of this? Well, he is the one with the strongest power we have found. The brightest light in the universe belongs to that boy and he is the one that will save us all.

:Mom:
"Sweetheart, the cake is ready!"
:Max:
“Really?”
:Mom+Dad:
“Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you! Happy Birthday Dear Maximus! Happy birthday to you!!!”
:Max:
Blows out candle
“Aweh Thank Mom and Dad, best birthday ever!"
Maximus was very delighted with the gifts and the cake he received, but was he ready for what was about to happen?
:Mom:
“I lov-”
:Max:
“Mom? Dad? What’s going on how come you can’t-”

As Max was transported to our library, he felt a sudden rush of air and was in a normal old library. So he thought…
