We are responsible for those we have tamed

in #writing5 years ago

Greetings dear readers!

"We are responsible for those we have tamed," the Fox told The little Prince in the desert after he had been tamed. "People have long forgotten this truth, but you must know it."..

This tale of the French writer Antoine De Saint-Exupery we all read when we were still elementary school students, and we had no doubt about the truth and sincerity of these words.

Look how carefully the Little Prince hides the rose, protects it from inevitable death...

Actually, if you remember the time when you were children, probably, in memory there will be pictures of how you, feeling sorry for the cold, hungry, crying little kitten, took him in his arms, hugged him and brought home... And at home, with a plaintive imploring look begged my parents to afford to leave the poor foundling, and then fed the baby with warm milk and warmed heart furry baby. Well, instead of kittens could be puppies, turtles, hedgehogs, etc.

Why, as adults, many have forgotten about this seemingly simple truth? Why have they become so soulless and callous in heart, not understanding that our smaller brothers often get into trouble because of us, people.

It is we who come to their "home", destroy it in order to build their homes - housing, production facilities, offices, entertainment centers, leaving for the world of animals less and less convenient for their existence places and territories, and then wonder that in towns and cities are increasingly found wild animals. Like, what are they doing here?

And they often just want to eat... because as a result of deforestation, and fires that regularly happen in recent years, they have nowhere to find food. Who knows how many small animals die in a firestorm? Accordingly, the larger animals, those who managed to avoid death in the fire, threatened with starvation. So they go to the people with a silent plea for help.

The only question is: are people ready to help them or not?

Someone's ready. When I was looking for my missing cat, I met people who come to the territory of parks and reservoirs located on the outskirts of our city, and feed abandoned former Pets there. Basically, these are pensioners who have barely enough income to live from retirement to retirement, but they apparently have not forgotten that "responsible for those who tamed", even if not they personally, but people like them.

I also saw a video where on one of the reservoirs people fed a young Fox cub, which to their surprise was not afraid of not only people, but also dogs, which they brought with them for a walk. Unfortunately, the video, first, Amateur and very poor quality, secondly, I was not able to place it here at all, so just take my word for it.

This year, fires raged in the forests located in the vicinity of Armavir. As a result, here such red beauties were noticed the other day already in other area of the city.

Compassionate citizens, as they can, try to help these animals, feed them. As you can see, animals are not afraid of people, friendly, not aggressive, take food directly from the hands.

It would seem, it is necessary to be glad that animals and people found a common language, but...

I read this article, and its text caused me bewilderment. I could not understand, what in it more? Concern for the health and well-being of people, fear for their lives, or a hidden call to war against animals who, naively relying on our kindness, came to people for help?

Actually, it was this note that prompted me to write this post, to remind you and myself that we are responsible for those who tamed, and do not forget about it. Always and everywhere need to remain man.

Thank you for your attention! See you soon!

With respect to you, @mrfantastis.
