forest thoughts
I’m just now beginning to question the validity of your insults.. not against myself— I never felt so low as to believe myself beneath you— rather against the others.
your former lovers,
for instance.
To believe they pulled you down is to look beyond your aptitude to sink. Perhaps, once, a lover of yours felt sore, and needed to stretch and step away from the weight of your ego. Holding you up all the time gets exhausting. Sometimes even warrior women need a day of rest, but that is not the same thing as pulling you down, my ex-darling.
I can’t always call you beautiful in the mornings, and force you to believe it.
The higher I lifted you up, the further you sank when I took a moments rest —and faster than times before.
my muscles sore.
please learn to float.
