Be Alone

I am the type of person
who enjoys being alone.
I like to walk home alone
with my favourite music
plugged in my ears.

I like to stay in my blanket
on Friday nights and watch
my favourite movie on my laptop.
I like being alone in a cafe,
with a book in my hand
while having my favourite cup of coffee.

I like quiet places and
time for myself.
But that's where the
breaking point comes.

I don't like being alone
for a long time.
I don't like being alone
for so long that those
thoughts take over my mind
and change me completely.

I don't like being alone
for so long that everything
around me comes to a standstill
and i get burdened with
my own self.

I don't like being alone
for so long that I stand
in front of the mirror
and blame myself for
everything that I am and was.

Basically, what I am
trying to say is that
being alone is fine.

But being lonely is not.

And that's what breaks me.
