The Most Bizarre, Surprising, and Disgusting Superpowers In The Animal Kingdom. ( Part - 1)

in #writing8 years ago

For just about every superhero or villain whose grace the pages of a comic book or Cineflex screen, Nature has an answer. The animal kingdom is full of inspiration when it comes to awesome abilities and many of nature's superpowers put their comic counterparts to shame. So strap on your utility belts, and look at the Avengers of evolution.

1. CHITONS (Polyplacophora)

Chitons are a family of pretty looking ancient mollusks that haven't changed much in over the past half billion years. Of course, If you had 17 regenerating rows of iron magnetite covered teeth that could grind away algae-crusted rocks ,why would you change? Although chitons look very simple But these mollusks have a very sophisticated shell. The shells outer layer is full of black Bumps that on close inspection turn out to be very tiny eyes complete with light-sensitive cells and a lens. Surprisingly the eyes lens is made of the same calcium carbonate material as a rest of the shell. While most of the opaque shell consists of tiny irregularly oriented grains. The grains in the lens are much larger and aligned to let light pass through with a little scattering. Researchers have shown that these eyes can actually see. Each one forms a complete image on its retina. The chitons can probably detect predators up to 2 meters away giving them an opportunity to clamp down tight and avoid being eaten. Chitons can't move very fast so they depend on their hard armor to keep them safe. The eyes are chinks in that armor but as they provide advanced warning of any attacks still more than makeup for it.

2. Lizard (Lacertilia)

Every young scientist has found himself chasing lizards in the backyard at some point, and like most of us, you probably ended up with just a wriggling tail and no lizard. But not only can many lizard geckos regrow their posterior.

3. Axolotl salamander (Ambystoma mexicanum)

But the mythical-looking axolotl salamander can regenerate entire limbs. The axolotl comes from the family of salamander under the sub species of amphibians only found near mexico. Yes, he is the one in the party whom you will try to avoid at all cost because of ugliness, and because he will stare at you for long periods of time, because he has no eyelids. Axolotl like to spend the time underwater and look cool, that's what they like to show them crazy gills-like tentacles over it's head. They are like nature's little hipsters because they like to fashion colors that aren't in fashion and look like that whooper pokemon. Axolotls are much like the Wolverines that's right. They can reconstruct anything from a detach limb to complex thing like portions of their brain.

4. Hairy frog (Trichobatrachus robustus)

Speaking of Logan, this hairy frog can break its bones and shove them out its fingers to make claws. That have got to be the most painful self-defense mechanism in the animal kingdom but at least your enemies will know you're not messing around because you will stab them with your own bones. So why would any logical animal do this simply enough self-defense. when Harry frogs feel threatened they contract a muscle which in turn break the bones and pulls Claus downwards through the co pads. so what do they do once the bones are broken do they just leave them hanging off their bodies. No well scientists aren't really sure but they believe that frogs are able to retract the claws back into their body as their muscles relax.

5. Cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis)

Sometimes the best way to survive in nature is without being seen at all. The cuttlefish is a expert mimic, can not only take the shape of stuff around it, but it can camouflage itself with even the most complicated furniture patterns. To move through the ocean, the cuttlefish have fins that surrounds it's mantel. But it also has a pipe, a muscular tube it can squirt water out for fast propulsion. The cuttlefish has a very advanced eye, in shape of w that someone wrote when they were drunk.
