MY VOCAB PRACTICE

  1. Susan decided to pursue a diploma in anthropology as she had always been fascinated by human customs and lifestyles.
  2. The children in the orphanage soon realized that the director of the institution was really a misanthrope who seized every opportunity to make their lives miserable.
  3. Bill Gates is well known for his philanthropy, especially for his public health programs in poor African countries.

Good examples.

I'm not sure if you remember the mid to late 1990s, when Bill Gates's wealth was growing by millions of dollars / year. He gave away little, and many people were highly critical of him.

(I even remember reading an article titled simply "When, Bill?" Meaning, "when are you gonna start maybe sharing a tiny bit of your wealth?!?!?")

Eventually, that's what he did. And he's become one of the greater philanthropists of our generation. I"m still not a "fan" of his, but nowadays, one has to give him a lot of credit for what he does and how he does it.

MY VOCAB PRACTICE.

  1. Antropology
The study of antropology has allowed us to understand the historical behavior of human beings.

  2. Misanthrope
The school bully was discovered to be a misanthrope when asked why he killed his classmates.

  3. Philanthropy
The billionaire expresses his positivity by publishing his philanthropy projects in third world countries.

I haven't said misanthrope out loud until today. Until next time!

Misanthropes are not generally known as murderers, but some murderers might be misanthropes. So, I gave you full marks for that!

Thank you for the feedback!
