The plot centers between a teenage boy and a girl who met during few ill-fated events. The main female child character, Lee Sooyeon, 15, a bullied victim in school because her father was an accused murderer. She has lived a tough life at a young age and she gets beaten by her own father. She met Han Jungwoo, a son of a known industrial conglomerate, who initially got threatened by her strange family background, but eventually protects her from all the bullies. The two became close and fell in love. One day, Han Jungwoo got abducted and Lee Sooyeon witnessed the incident, attempts to save him but ended up sexually abused. The two separated since Han Jungwoo seeks help but found out she died while trying to get away from the abusers.

14 years later, Han JungWoo becomes a homicide detective still on search for Lee Sooyeon, believing she's alive. His instincts drives him closer to keep on hoping to see her again. Lee SooYeon (now known as Zoey Lou), on the other hand, becomes a fashion designer, returns to Korea, with Kang HyungJoon (now known as Harry Borrison), who saved her from the tragedy she experienced with Han JungWoo because he felt indebted for being saved by her in a fire accident. Both of them flew abroad, living under their aliases, using the money his mother has saved for him. As she faces the world which gave her all the trauma she wasn't able to handle, she pretends not to know Han JungWoo, who, when he saw her for the first time in a long time, had the feels that Zoey was Lee SooYeon he was waiting for, he insisted with pain in his heart into forcing her to remember every good thing that happened before rather than being reminded with all the things that hurt her since he abandoned her during the night he sought for help from the authorities. She held a grudge towards Han Jungwoo that even though she recognized him at the first glance, with all the memories falling back in place, put on a poker face.

They have been in an on-and-off because such opposing factors lead them to a situation to put an end on their relationship. As they struggle to endure with its cruelty, they still find their way back to each other's arms. The severity of a tough spot they are in didn't hinder what their hearts scream for. Beyond their battle of being against all odds, they end up being together, happily.

_{My Thoughts About It}

This is a tragic drama that teared my heart apart as I shed innumerable amount of tears. The story woke me with mixed emotions as I comprehend how ill-fated it was for the main characters to go through. It depicted an immeasurable love. Their love story gave emphasis to the saying "Love conquers all". Han JungWoo's character held on for years in trusting his faith that Lee SoYeon is still alive because he can feel her existence in his heart. My heartfelt gratitude to the scriptwriter of this drama, Moon HeeJung.
