Bored Pile Method Explained in 4 easy steps #3

for engineers must be familiar with the science of BORE PILE.

Bore pile foundation is a kind of foundation that can channel all loads on the construction to the ground with a hard structure so that the foundation is very strong. Installation of this foundation is done by drilling the soil to be used first. Holes in the soil will then be given a series of reinforcement and done with a concrete casting. If the location of the land on the land is less feasible, then usually the contractor will use the aid of bore pile as one of the tools in the foundation. Regardless of the manufacturing process, bore pile foundation has advantages compared to other foundation types.

a little carelessness and ineffectiveness in the work of this bore pile will all affect the building to be built.

Field Preparation

In the field preparation, there are several things to note, namely:

• There should be adequate work paths
• drainage must be created and maintained during the work process.
• Can be required concrete block or steel plate as a cushion to hold crane and concrete mixer in order to reach pile point.
• adequate illumination of important locations in the project.

Drilling Method

the drilling method should be done carefully to prevent vertical drill holes unfolding. before touching MAT, drill bit used is auger whereas when already touches MAT, drill bit used is bucket.

Slurry

Slurry is used for various purposes in the bored pile method, usually to prevent sliding. The slurry used in the bored pile method is water, polymer, and bentonite. Polymer serves to accelerate the occurrence of deposition whereas bentonite serves to prevent sliding. the use of slurry is adjusted to the existing needs. the following are bentonite properties that need to be accomplished when executed:

• pH appatus: 7.5-11
• viscosity: 32-45 s
• density: 1.02-1.2
• sand content: <3% vol
• fluid loss: 20-40ml
• cake: <1-3mm

all of which must be experimental when making bentonite as needed. but usually done only pH appatus, viscosity, and density. whereas fluid loss and cake is also important to do. but time and cost limits cause fluid loss and cake not to be done. Then in the implementation of making bentonite also need to be considered, both in the manufacture and disposal. do not get thrown away arbitrarily because it will cause environmental problems.

Land Disposal
Land disposal in bored pile method needs to be considered because if it can not cause problems in the field. Some things to note in the bored pile method are:

• Drilled soil collected in addition to drill cranes.
• The land must be removed immediately so as not to disrupt the drilling process.
• Generally prepared a site within the project for temporary shelter of excavated soil for later removal from the project site at night

Desanding / Recycling

this recording process needs to be done to separate the soil and bentonite, and excavation soil.

Splitting Installation

In the installation of pembesian, things to note are:

• This spawning needs to be installed spacer concrete
  hung to the casing using iron rods.
• Decrease of iron into the hole where the bottom of the excavation is clean enough.

• The next iron is inserted over the first iron and the connection is made.

• Sliding occurs then the enlargement must be re-enlarged

Installation of Tremie Pipe

Tremie pipe is a pipe used to insert the concrete into the borehole so that the concrete is not damaged by mixing with the filler fluid

Casting

In the process of casting, the things to note are:

• Slump concrete: 175mm to 225mm.
• Tremie pipes: 220mm in diameter with varying lengths, 0.5m, 1m, 2m, and 4m.
• If calculated the long casting time required retarder to keep the concrete is still not set during the casting process
• During the casting process, it is necessary to record and compose the concrete VS height of concrete as well as theoretical calculations.
• Preparation of concrete samples
• If the upper limit of foundry is below the level of the project surface it is necessary to accumulate with material that is stable enough after the concrete set.
• If the excavation is total, the hole must be closed by using lean concrete

Things to note in the implementation:

Field management

• Excavation processes that use water or slurry can potentially damage the clearance and surface stability of the field.
• Need a good field drainage system + maintenance of the system
• Fields damaged by a submerged surface will cause an unstable crane risk and a difficult concrete mixer to reach the site

Position of the Device

• With the flow of concrete at the time of casting can lift pembesian so it is not at the desired level.
• The position of this pembesian should be noted during the casting so that iron does not rise.
• The cost of fixing this iron position usually involves a very large number
