Writing 101

Writing is a skill which has to be nurtured and not an overnight skill.Here, I'd like to share a thing or two about how to compile a decent content. I am still a learner myself and I'll always be a learner. The first thing to put in mind is that everyone can write and the rest, leave that up to the reader.

People writes for different reasons such as gaining popularity, earning , indulge a hobby,leaving a heritage or simply because they want it. Regardless of everyone's motives, there's a simple formula of how actually a content is compiled

Content = The Idea + The Writer+ The Medium

or in other way, every piece of writing consist of those 3 inevitable components.

Let's take a look closer

• The Idea : Without an idea there won't be a content in the first place. Idea can come in so many ways, as simple as a daily routine. However,to make it more engaging and captivating, one must have a specific angle to be emphasized. I put Idea before everything else is because without an Idea, one won't have the will to create a content.

• The Writer : A writer interest and background will decide a stance on a particular topic of interest. This will also decide the tone and how the content is being conveyed. not to mention, the choice of words which will greatly impact the target readers in general.

• The Medium : First and foremost, a writer should consider the medium which is aimed for. It's important to know the target reader and the platform to decide the approach, the length and also the tone. However, a creative writer such as a poet, may be less concerned about the medium in which the work is to be printed.

I would also add that all the medium or publication are similar yet never identical.For example there's numerous news channel and social media platforms but each of them attracts different person. It is then, the task of the writer to put in the words and to " feel" the differences in each medium.These differences are the result of educational background, sociological background, geographical interest, professional interest and etc.

in a very simple way : A product review would be written differently even by the same reviewer depending on the medium and a crossword puzzle aimed for people with better verbal aptitude would be more difficult than one in a simple tabloid.

In conclusion, All of those components are intertwined between each other and can not be separated.
