The precious time, what it gives and what it takes

Time is an interesting concept, humans have divided it down to milliseconds and dragged it out to millenniums for the reason that it is such an important value in our lives. Time is everything, the amount that we spend on this earth, the time that goes by working, age limits, weekends, timer on the microwave, the length of our favorite TV show, how many words can we read in a minute and how long does it take to finish a whole book, how many hours of sleep do I get and how much do I have of my own time.

There are only so many hours in a day, but is it the sun and the moon that dictates our rhythm or is it us? Age is such a relevant value for people, but should it matter? Workday takes up most of our hours, and most don't even enjoy their job. Why do people continue to do something they hate, when we have limited amount on years to spend on this planet? And then there is the fact that no one knows with certainty that tomorrow will not be the last.

The sun might be the dictator of when it is dark and when it is not, but we are the only masters of our time, the choices we make affect how much of it we have for us. I have made a decision to work on my own terms, to choose how long I spend in the world of dreams, and the time I can spend doing what I truly want to do. Nothing is impossible in this world, I am the only limitation of my universe.

I love life and I love my time, I enjoy every minute on this world, even the bad parts, because they make me better, stronger and smarter. As I get more years on my calendar I gather more experience, I acquire more wisdom and I enjoy the world more, age is just a number and one day the time I have will run out. I don't mind, in fact I am curious. But I hope that the day won't come any time soon, because I have not explored everything I want, I haven't learned everything I need and I haven't helped as much as I want, yet. Still, one day I will be old and wrinkly and I accept that.

In a world where everybody has their ''end of the world'' date, it is crucial not to get pulled into depression and self loathing, just look at all the wars, poverty, hunger and violence, that alone can beat a persons spirit to the ground. But all those things are human created and all can be changed by human hand and mind. The important thing is to make the first step, to realize that any small deed matters, and there is no better time than now to start caring about each other. There will always be someone we can help, morally, physically, in any way, and when everybody realizes that we are the ones that feed the bad and gory, maybe then we will stop sparing food for those demons.

I truly have to believe in a better world, because that is the saving grace of all that lives and breathes.
