After seeing the film for the first time, I thought about films with a linguist as one of the main characters.
I'm now looking forward to hear how much linguists are rejoicing (hopefully!) after seeing this film. :D
PS: You could refer to them as 'Abbott and Costello'!!! :))))
wow that's a great comment.. this post is 2 months old ! yeah, linguists are good conduits for alien stories.. you also forgot that Han Solo and Luke could both speak quite a few languages, but not as many as C3PO I thought abbot and costello was a bit cheap as names for them. they were more holmes and watson or at least laurel and hardy !! thanks for responding. I'm not sure how you found a 2 month old post !
Thanks! I'm a Redditor, so am familiar with the Markdown format! That is why I am able to link to my viewer timestamp commentary instead of including the whole URL.
As for how I found your post. I was able to...using the good 'ole search page! Using the terms: arrival amy adams.
(This is my second time posting this --- usually when the 'loading' button is stuck...a quick 'reload' would fix it. The downside of doing that is sometimes the post would disappear! I'm now going to copy my text onto the clipboard!)
yeah it's a bit buggy at the moment. thanks for your reply. a few people have mentioned losing comments and posts ( I lost a long post just the other day) . You have a headstart with markdown !! even basic markdown
