Just a suggestion as you are interpreting the data - the behavior you are seeing may very well be a byproduct of the entire ecosystem adjusting to the new world of HF19 and not a permanent state. Before declaring HF19 as an enemy for newbies, I think we need some more time to pass so results are not skewed by what may be one-time activity associated with this significant change.

These changes affect both Authoring rewards and Curation rewards. There are a number of us who focus more of our time on quality Curation, while others focus on Authoring. Let's see how this plays out, as the incentives have shifted and behavior has to catch up with the new rules.
