Creative Writing Challenge Task #2 Define the Word
The Creative Writing Challenge Task #2 -
Take a look at your book shelves again. Pick a dictionary. Find a word which meaning you don't know. Don't read the definition, nor in the book itself and neither anywhere else.
- Write an imaginary definition of a word. Then repeat the same exercise with two more words.
Option 2: - Write a short essay (min. 300 words) related to an unknown word. Use your creativity muscle and surprise us with something outstanding. Surprise yourself as well :). Both non-fictional and fictional essays are accepted.
The Story
Traveling across the seven seas pulled and pushed by the wind and sea. I tie the ropes, command the winds west, paddle fast, and you guessed it. Against the sea, I lost the fight. Landing or crashing let say we ingratiating. That is what my grandmother called crash landing. This new place I’ve come to discover is filled with mangoes. Great, fruit is food. For days searching the highest high and the lowest low for anything and everything else. The caves have stories from other travelers. Did they know, ingratiating? Did they crash here or come with a purpose? The stick figures seem lonely. Hunting for purpose. Searching for a home to call their own. Were they the original ingratiating people? Maybe they came looking for a home and discovered this fruit and spread its seed across the nation. The sweet taste filled their tummies and hearts. Maybe, ingratiating means to fulfill and spread sweet juice.
Maybe the ingratiate people felt bitter and left their land. Lost control of their boat and crashed into the land. Crashing into a sweet treasure inspired them to call the land ingratiate. They learned to grow the sweet fruit and took their seed when they left and the world only knows mangoes today because of them. Just maybe the ingratiating of fruit is a mystery like the world and we are all just enjoying the sweet surprise of the the unknown.

Thankfully not. It happens on my shorter reply as I do not always fully understand (once the person responds) of what I was commenting on. It happens lol.

Maybe it's from the grating sound of the keel against the shallow shoals? I enjoyed my short time marooned on your imaginary mangoed island in the sun.

Good story with this "unknown word" You made the supposed meaning very clear. The true meaning of the word let me think about some comments on steemit. ;-)
