The AXE-MAN VERSUS THE TREE

Out of the need for urgency, we all desire to get things done as quickly as possible. This desire is usually borne out of the need to quickly fulfill the task at hand and move to another one or on the negative, it may be because we can no longer bear the pain and urgently desire respite and ease from the discomfort we are dealing with.

In a world of multitasking, the push to get things done as soon as possible presses on us daily, from trying to handle financial tasks, family responsibilities to making spiritual commitments etc, we see ourselves rushing over everything, including that which should be meticulously handled because of how delicate they are.
No wonder get-rich-quick and ponzi scheme thrive these days, though some guys find luck, others are left to rue their losses and may even find themselves farther behind just because of the rush to get forward as fast as possible.

But the axe man, on the quest to fell a tree is fully abreast of the irrefutable fact that the tree cannot fall in one single swipe, he has to inflict deadly blows upon deadly blows before the tree losses resistance and bow to the axeman.

Needful to state that it is not because the axeman desires to fell the tree that makes it fall, it is the persistence of the axeman as the first and most important factor, amongst other factors that brings the tree to its knees.

Though he starts the venture with so much vigor, every strike on the tree saps his energy, but such subtraction is an advantage he gains over the tree, because with every strike the tree losses its resistance. Sometimes he takes a feeble strike because he be tired, but he cannot afford to let the tree laugh at him.

If he has to rest, he does so, but never giving up, because his efforts over the tree thus far will be taken over by another person.

How do we relate with this?

We all are like the Axeman, standing before our dreams, tasks or lifelong commitments. One swipe of our axe may not do it, but surely persistence does.
Every attempt made, every new road that will lead to the attainment of what is at hand, every new idea tried out, every consultation made, all amount to you taking a swipe at your tree, and though they may not produce instantaneous results, yet all weaken the obstacles that stand between you and your dreams.

Rest if you have to, but never give up, never give a second thought to turn back because it is occasionally hard, seek help if you have to, but never call it quit because you cannot push your dream to a certain percentage and then retreat thereby allowing someone else take the glory.

Never be distracted by the success of others, even if the next man has cut down a vegetation of trees, while you are still struggling with one, never distract your energy from the hurdle before you.
Focusing your energy on the 'tree' before you makes it easier for you to notice the weak spots of the tree and also know how to strike it to cause the much needed and significant effects.

When I joined steemit, I had a conversation with @fessikay and i told him I would become a Whale as quickly as possible, but I had little idea of how everything works. But with every post, I continued on my journey from a reputation of (25) to (33) now. Its a worthwhile trip, and I hope to keep going.

Be a profitable Axe-man;
*Identify a profitable tree,
*Take your strike,
*To prevent your tool from going blunt, sharpen your tool constantly,
*Seek help if you have to,
*Rest, because it is necessary,
But after all said and done,
NEVER LET YOUR TREE LAUGH AT YOU,
NEVER GIVE UP.

I love your story. It is so fitting for someone starting out on Steemit and a great reminder to those of us who maybe a little further but not quite there yet. Determination and persistence!! It's worth everything on Steemit and good comments LOL. But seriously getting out and commenting is one of the best ways to be seen.

Yea. You are so right @tryskele. I am determined we will surely get 'there'
Thanks for the comment

I appreciate your honest assessment.
Thanks for stopping by

This is a phenomenal story of persistence @kinginspiration and very well written. How many times have we chopped away at the tree and left it unfelled in frustration only to have another come behind us and lean on it then watch it topple?

Wow. Nice one here.
You are so right. Many times we labour, get frustrated and quit, while someone comes behind to take the glory.
I really appreciate your comment @jbreheny

It’s my pleasure @kingspiration. I really enjoyed the tale and am following to see other great stories from you.

Many thanks. I'm following you too

Wonderful way of putting statement that can be related to a universal truth. Persistence is the key. Or more suitably only those who have a determination to face all obstacles with an aim to succeed in any adversity will only win the game at last..

Good one..
