Excerpt from my journal

"The truth shall set you free" they say. That singular statement is loaded with so much depth. No one ever tells you how painful it really is though, or in my case, how numb you feel after you finally let go of all the secrets and lies that have weighed you down for so long. No, the truth hasn't set me free. Not yet anyway.
My new found understanding of this devastatingly true statement is; the truth doesn't just magically set you free. There's no such thing as a magic fix. What it does is, it sets you on the path to freedom, a long, hard and painful path. All I know is that lies are a poison and the truth lights the path to freedom.
