Truth Part One
Have you ever sat down and wondered what truth is?
Have you ever had to face yourself? Not the truth about yourself, people are intelligent animals with souls and nothing more, but the truth about where we are, why we are, in other words, the truth about what assaults your senses and even the things you cannot sense? Have you ever died, are certain of it, and asked why it is you are still alive?
There are a lot of people like that, who have died and are still alive. There are a lot of people, oftentimes veterans, who experience wounds so great, and injuries so deadly that there is no way they could be alive. It does not matter what country the soldier lives in, it is obvious that they have died and now live.
They lost consciousness when limbs were blown off or they burned, or were shot.
My grandfather was shot in World War II in the Battle of the Bulge. He was shot so bad, by a fifty caliber bullet, that there was a piece of his left shoulder missing about the size of a 16 ounce bowl. The shoulder blade was gone too. He was declared dead and they were stripping him to salvage his equipment for other soldiers when he came to and shot the man who stripped him. Shot him.
In a Home Depot, a national and maybe international home building and improvement supply chain, my wife and I were talking about this joke of a Mississippi woman who was shot in between the eyes by her husband, who then committed suicide. When the sheriff showed up, she offered him tea. Blood ran out of the bullet hole in her forehead but she had not looked in the mirror. Hilarious, we talked about Gabriel Giffords, the congresswoman who lived and resumed her congressional duties. Yes, she was shot in the head.
So, this woman who worked at Home Depot overheard our conversation and spoke up. Lovely woman. "It is true." She showed us the scars where a 1/2 re bar had entered in the right top of her skull and shot through the bottom out behind her left ear.
"Did it hurt?"
"No not really." She did twitch a bit recalling her accident. she shuddered.
I have known a lot of people like that. My best friend when I was in junior high or middle school, and high school was shot about a year and a half ago seven times. He was in a coma for a month and one of the bullets is lodged against his spine, one in his brain, and the third I forgot where. The point is he really should be dead.
Oh there is more and I could go on and on about myself but no one would believe so I won't.
Rather, what is the truth about people who have experienced near death experiences and survive?
I have been to funerals, watched corpses at viewings, saw friends and relatives placed in the ground. It is a certainty people really die. It is a certainty people really can be seriously injured. And for some of us, we come out of these experiences after healing(s) pretty much completely 100 percent healthy.
What is the truth about that? Oh don't answer the question. No one really knows. No one knows at all and let us not pretend for a moment we do. That is truth.
Like all animals, the truth is, none of us knows why we live. Not a one of us has any idea how we are alive and yet we are. We also do not know why anyone else is alive either. A personal observation, a lot of people are alive solely to be a total pain in the ass. They might be God's entertainment but I just don't think so.
The truth is some people just get their jollies by torturing everyone else. Causing other people pain makes them happy.
Hitler, Stalin, other dictators, you know who I mean, the folks that kill millions could not have done it if there were not a bunch of other people who really enjoyed causing other people pain - like demons. It is the truth.
The best stories supposedly contain some moral or impart some wisdom, there is a plot, a theme, there is a reason for the story and it has great value and so people will read it. That is not true, like it is not true that the best authors get paid the most. Remember the demons who love to cause other people pain, agony, despair, as long as they do not have to suffer it themselves, you can be the best author of whatever field of art you are in, as it is all art, science says so and that is the truth.
Yes, science arrives at truths but the truth is never at hand because there is always more to learn. The truth is always partial. For we beasts, that is true.
Limited by our senses, limited by our brain power, and limited by our mortality: we really still do not know that much. The more we learn the more there is to know and that is true.
To make matters more complicated, everyone has completely different experiences. Everyone has different abilities to communicate those experiences and different abilities to understand the communications. There are distractions. One could be in Mosul right now, on the side of ISIS or ISIL, the Islamic State, while it is being surrounded by coalition forces, reading this and wondering. This is true.
There are thousands of places people could be where this is being read, the truth, and they just don't see it, can't understand it, maybe even see it as subversive or view what has been said as outright balderdash. That is the truth.
This is also the truth: my only hope in writing this is to take you out of all the crap and help you and myself to realize that none of us knows the truth.
Have a great weekend! Have a wonderful weekend and that is the truth! All that has to happen for you to have a wonderful and truly good time is to accept: no one knows the truth.
