5th Wheelin' ..... Just Grin and Nod
Nothing wears on me more than not having a plan!
Having a job, a home, vehicles, and a basic life... these things, in my mind at least, didn't happen without some sort of "how to" plan. Am I right?
Lets add children into that mix too.
Okay yeah... sometimes..... kids aren't always "planned" or sketched out. For some, Children are the Forth of July Fire work that set itself off before the fuse was lit.
A big ol' Howdy suddenly presents himself at ground zero!
Uh... oh wait...
Kapow!!
Another firework went off and now there are TWO staring ya right in the peepers.
Reworking the plan is still doable... but now we add, "Lets plant our Roots" and grow the family... even though you are not where you want to be.
Your dreams are just muted, not gone. Right?
scratch plan A.... go to plan D (for determined)
RIGHT!
Let me get you up to speed on our journey...
We are the Woodson Family...
@jeejee, @bookmarked, @beardo, and @ the youngest who-hasn’t-been-Steem-named... yet
(Hense the face).
Okay, maybe he’s always making faces....
A family of 4, dreaming of more
MORE:
Time Together
Vacations Together
Vegetable Gardening Together
Animals Together
Land to Roam Together
and of course, More Children. ... but that is all together another blog for another day.
I hope you get to read that tragic love story in the near future.
We knew we weren't where we needed to be
and we were the only ones who could change that.
So...
We sold our 1700 square foot home in Texas,
packed our belongings for storage, and bought an RV.
**ALL IN LESS THAN A WEEK. **
Here is our RV..
Pulling up our roots so that we could roam.
We, however, did not expect or calculate into our plans for a hurricane .
No we did not.
Scratch Plan D, skip to plan E (E for evacuate)
WAIT!
We have WHEELS.... ROAM BABY ROAM!!!!
We knew we were being called to Arkansas... but we still don't know where.
So we haven't settled yet, but thanks to @dwells and @essentialoilmom we have a safe place for our RV on their property!
AND boy oh boy is it beautiful here!!
RV life has taught us more than we expected. .. we have moved on to Plan P (P for Pray about it)
Here are some things we have learned along the way:
RV's leak.
They leak at the most inconvenient times when its 3:01 A.M.
(Dealers train the RVs to only leak when they are not open, and never within their inspections)
RV's are bouncy
They move. They bounce. They will tattle to your children when you are romantic with your spouse and wake them from their slumber. There is no tethering an RV for romance.
(Dealers train the RVs to never allow romance)
RV's Will keep you from injury Only on the inside
No matter where you are on the INSIDE of the RV, if you lose your balance... the walls are more than willing to be there for you just inches away... keeping you from falling. All you need is raise a trusty elbow and the wall will help you out right away.... very courteous. But once you are outside of the RV, you're on your own.
(Dealers install this feature in order to avoid slip and fall law suits)
Below is a photo of a full time RVer. Notice the active elbow stance.
RV's will only take so much crap off of you
Literally. This RV has a two week limit and we have to change it's diaper. We bought some Tide Pod looking things that keep the indigestion on the down-low... I'm glad our teens don't eat them.
(Dealers train the RV to appear empty even when they are bursting at the seems)
RV's will teach you Tolerance
Tolerance.... hahahahah. Yeah. Nope. Its get along or die around here. Just kidding... we learned early on that space is a luxury. A Grand Luxury.
(Dealers just grin and nod when you say the word "full-time"... and they pat the RV on the hiney and send you packin ASAP)
Grin and Nod

Banner Compliments of @papa-pepper
Are you enjoying the boot camp?
@beatitudes8
I have learned a ton of stuff, gained a lot of knowledge. There’s been a huge amount of things to learn and I’ll have to study up more even after the 10 days have ended. In most cases it’s taken quite a bit of time to complete the assignments... fun.... meh.... worth while? MOST DEFINITELY!!
@jeejee
This is absolutely a wonderful post. It was easy to read and kept me entertained all the way through. Thank you for sharing your RV life. I know how it feels to try intamcy with your spouse when you have children and live in a small house. I couldn't imagine an RV! Haha Are your children happy with the switch to an RV?
Our kids are 13 and 14 yrs old... so they definitely have their opinions about it. But they also know and understand that it is just for a season and we will eventually find that piece of land that suits us and that we will build a home... it has brought us all together closer, out of necessity to get along in a small space. We have definitely learned ALL about respecting each others personal space :)
Haha! God bless you guys, @jeejee! Keep the posts coming...these kind of adventures are entertaining as hell! Good luck and keep on RV'n!
@artibeus
It is definitely an adventure, that is for sure!! Thank you
hehe very nice story, I would have liked a picture of the inside, just to get an idea of how much space you really have inside :P
Here ya go:
wow it looks way luxiorious :D!!! almost like a very tiny apartment
We have enjoyed the transition. We have our good days and bad days just like any other family .. and they’re all shared closely :)
Gotta love the mobile life! We're building a school bus tiny house so we can travel freely - you guys are having an amazing adventure! Some of your lessons learned had me cracking up.
Heck, I crack myself up... LOL..... living in a tiny space is definitely the way to go if you want to travel a lot.. it has advantages and disadvantages, equally. But... I have to say that it has made us a more understanding family. We understand space, time, emotions, and growth... growth happens without permission.
Good luck on your adventures!! I expect to be able to read all about them!
@jeejee
yes, I like this way of travelling but I like as well going with a small backpack for some days....
You’re braver than I am.. I need a bed and safe door to close ... not much of a hiker myself.
If you're ever RVing through (edited), we would love to meet ya'll!
We aren’t moving around a whole lot at this time... we are pretty stationary for a bit.. the kids are on a swim team here and gardening is about to begin: so we have pledged to help our neighbors who have helped us so much. But I think in a few short years we may be traveling more. (9th and 7th graders)
However summer travel is always “a thing”...
we would love to meet up!!
@jeejee
And oh... my hubby (@beardo) is working in Olive Branch Mississippi... are you near?
Glad to hear you're able to get some gardening in. We're not too far.
Well we could manage coming by one weekend if yall want to!
[email protected] is my email
thank you for sharing your journey! as a kid, i RVd a lot with my aunt and uncle, and Ill never forget those times. As an adult? I dont think I could handle it! I have back up plans for my back up plans, and moving my house around with me sounds like a date with Murphys Law ;P
Murphy’s law, indeed. If it can happen, it usually does LOL
I’ve learned to roll more with the punches lately 😂
great quality to have. i need to work on my patience first! hehehe
Hahah.. don’t we all? Is patience ever within reach??
@jeejee
good point. maybe if i stop trying so hard, itll come naturally and wont be so painful LOL
Indeed .... same here :)
@jeejee
